A Bali catamaran in the BVI costs $15,000 to $48,000 a week for the yacht and crew. That is the listed range across the 62 Balis on this site that cruise the BVI, from 43 to 58 feet, sleeping 6 to 12 guests.
60 of the 62 are all-inclusive, so food, bar, fuel and moorings are in the number. The other two add an APA of about 25%.
The typical boat is a 2023 to 2025 Bali 5.4 for eight guests at $32,000, and 19 of the 62 Balis here list at exactly that figure. There is no VAT on a BVI charter.
Bali is the second most common crewed catamaran in the BVI after Lagoon, and the youngest fleet of any builder here. 58 of the 62 were built in 2020 or later.
The sections below set it out by size, by age and by group, with every price taken from the live listing.
43 to 46 feet: 3 boats, $15,000 to $24,000. The Bali 4.2 and 4.6, for six.
48 to 49 feet: 12 boats, $20,000 to $25,000. The Bali 4.8, four cabins for eight.
52 to 56 feet: 41 boats, $26,000 to $34,000. The Bali 5.4 and the new 5.2, the heart of the fleet.
58 feet: 6 boats, $39,000 to $48,000. The Bali 5.8, almost all of them 2026 and 2027 builds.
Every yacht named on this page is linked to its listing with the live rate. We are an independent brokerage with access to every yacht on the market, so this list is the market, not one owner’s fleet.
What stands out when you step aboard a Bali?
The door. On a Bali the whole back wall of the saloon tilts up into the roof, so the saloon and the cockpit become one room the full width of the boat.
Nobody is inside while everyone else is outside.
The second thing is the foredeck. Where other catamarans have trampolines, a Bali has a solid deck with a sunken lounge, which is why families with small children ask for them by name.
We have been aboard MYSTIC, a 2023 Bali 5.4, and NO INHERITANCE, a 2023 five-cabin 5.4. MYSTIC is a floating apartment in the best sense: great space for an active family, systems updated, and a calendar that fills early because of it.
NO INHERITANCE is the value case. The boat is a standard Bali, and what you are paying for is a crew guests rave about and a menu that reads like a good restaurant, grilled lobster tail with chimichurri included.
That is the honest summary of the brand. The hulls are alike from one boat to the next, so the crew and the condition decide your week, not the badge.
One more thing you notice: the flybridge. From the 4.8 up every Bali has one, with the helm and a second lounge up top, so the cockpit below stays a dining room rather than a working deck.
Which Bali models exist, and which can you charter in the BVI?
Bali is the charter brand of the Catana Group, built in Canet-en-Roussillon in the south of France. The first Bali, the 4.5, launched in 2014, and the yard has built more than 1,500 since.
The current sailing range is the Catsmart, Catspace, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8, 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8. The numbers are the length in metres, so a 5.4 is about 54 feet and a 5.8 about 58.
In the BVI the fleet is almost all 5.4s. 41 of the 62 Balis here are 5.4s or the new 5.2, 12 are 4.8s, 6 are 5.8s and 3 are the smaller 4.2 and 4.6.
Every one of them is a sailing catamaran; Bali does not build a power version.
The 5.2 is the newest model, and the five of them here, NO RUSH, VALINOR, HIRAYA, WILDCAT and CRAFT WITH A SEA, are all 2026 and 2027 builds at $31,000 to $32,000.
What does a Bali 5.4 cost per week in the BVI?
A Bali 5.4 in the BVI costs $26,000 to $34,000 a week, yacht and crew, all-inclusive. Four-cabin boats for eight sit at $33,000; the five-cabin boats for ten sit at $34,000.
36 of them cruise the BVI, which makes the 5.4 the single most common crewed charter yacht in the islands.
MYSTIC (2023, $33,000) and NO INHERITANCE (2023, $34,000) are the two we have walked. BIG NAUTI, a 2020 at $32,000, carries more guest reviews than any other Bali on this site.
The five-cabin boats for ten are NO INHERITANCE, PERMABEAR, COCKTAILS & DREAMS and CRYSTAL DREAMS, all 2022 to 2023 builds at $34,000, with AD ASTRA 5.4 (2020) at $32,000.
At the low end, TWO OCEANS, Epiphany and Motek list at $26,000, all 2023 builds. The gap to $33,000 is the owner’s pricing, not the boat, so they are the ones to ask about first.
Our page on whether you will hear the generator at night names the 5.4s running big battery banks; it is the one real difference between two Balis of the same year.
What does a Bali 5.8 cost per week in the BVI?
A Bali 5.8 in the BVI costs $39,000 to $48,000 a week. Six cruise here, and five of them are 2026 or 2027 builds, so this is the newest fleet of any model in the islands.
The 5.8 is the first Bali with the volume of a 60-footer: a full-width master cabin, a bigger flybridge, and five cabins on JUMEAUX for ten guests.
DREAM ON (2026, $44,000) already has twelve guest reviews and a crew our clients re-book; one couple booked her again for 2027 before they had unpacked. OCEANS ONE is the newest at $48,000.
JUMEAUX (2027, $44,000) is the five-cabin 5.8 for ten, and SPANDA takes nine. EQUANIMITY lists at $43,500 for eight.
Endeavour is the exception: $39,000 plus expenses rather than all-inclusive, in the BVI for the winter and in Sicily for the summer, so compare her on the total, not the headline.
What does a Bali 4.8 cost per week in the BVI?
A Bali 4.8 in the BVI costs $20,000 to $25,000 a week all-inclusive, with most of the 12 boats at $25,000 for eight guests in four cabins.
It is the cheapest way into a crewed week with a flybridge, and the right size for two couples or a family of four to six.
KORU (2021, $24,000) runs as a three-cabin boat for six, which gives every couple a cabin and the fourth cabin to the crew’s stores. SEA SEÑORITA is the newest 4.8, a 2025 at $25,000.
Bavarian Bliss at $20,000 and OKEANA at $23,000 are the value picks, and KASIOPEJA (2023, $24,500) is the most reviewed of the twelve.
Below the 4.8: APRICITY, a 4.6 at $24,000 for eight, and the two 4.2s, Aquatic Odyssey at $15,000 for six and MAH NA MAH NA at $17,000 plus expenses. At that size you give up the flybridge but keep the door and the solid foredeck.
Why are Bali prices in the BVI so close together?
Because the fleet is young and alike. 58 of the 62 Balis here were built in 2020 or later, and 41 of them are the same model, so a 2023 to 2025 Bali 5.4 for eight costs $33,000 almost wherever you book it.
Compare that with Lagoon, where build years run from 2005 to 2027 and the same length can cost half or double.
What moves a Bali price is cabins, not age. The five-cabin 5.4s for ten are $34,000, the four-cabin boats for eight $33,000, and a 2019 to 2020 boat such as ISLAND KISSES ($28,500) or HIGH 5 ($28,000, refit 2023) saves you three or four thousand.
Then the terms. 60 of the 62 are all-inclusive, so their number is close to what you pay.
On the two that are not, a 25% APA on top of a $39,000 boat is about $9,750 more before gratuity.

Which Bali takes ten or twelve guests?
The five-cabin Bali 5.4s take ten: NO INHERITANCE, PERMABEAR, COCKTAILS & DREAMS and CRYSTAL DREAMS at $34,000, AD ASTRA 5.4 at $32,000, and Epiphany and Motek at $26,000. On the 5.8, JUMEAUX takes ten at $44,000.
Twelve is possible on a Bali, which it is not on a Lagoon: Destiny Unbound ($30,000) and Ne Ultra Plus ($28,000) both sleep twelve.
LEGASEA and Southern Queen take eleven in six cabins, at $34,000 and $30,000. On any of these the sixth cabin is a small forward cabin, so put the teenagers there, not the grandparents.
Twelve on a 54-foot boat is a full boat. If the group is twelve adults, our page on BVI catamarans for twelve guests sets the Balis against the bigger boats that do it with more room.
Every Bali here sails with two crew, a captain and a chef. Our note on how many crew a BVI charter has explains what that means for service at ten.
How does a Bali compare with a Lagoon or a Fountaine Pajot?
At 50 to 59 feet the three production builders overlap in the BVI: Bali $26,000 to $34,000, Lagoon $17,900 to $43,000, Fountaine Pajot $17,199 to $52,000. Bali has the narrowest band because its fleet is the newest and the most uniform.
Under 50 feet Bali is the dearest of the three on average and the best equipped, because every 4.8 carries a flybridge.
Bali gives you the most living space per foot and the door, which makes it the family boat.
Lagoon gives you the widest choice, 83 boats against 62, and the only route to 70 feet and over. Fountaine Pajot is the lighter boat and the better sailer, with the most open flybridges.
Above 60 feet Bali stops. A group that wants a Bali-style open deck on a bigger boat is looking at a Lagoon 65 or a Sunreef.
Our Lagoon guide for the BVI and Sunreef guide for the BVI cover those steps up, and which catamaran brand is best for a crewed BVI charter compares all four side by side.
For the three 50-footers most people choose between, read our Leopard 50 vs Lagoon 50 vs Bali 5.4 comparison, with a pros-and-cons table.
Is a Bali right for a family, a group of friends, or a couple?
A family with small children: this is the brand. The solid foredeck, the one-room main deck and the flybridge mean a parent can see every child from one seat.
A 2023 to 2025 5.4 for eight at $33,000.
Ten friends: a five-cabin 5.4 at $34,000, or JUMEAUX if the budget stretches to $44,000 and you want the newest boat in the islands.
Two couples: a 4.8 at $25,000. Three cabins is plenty, and the fourth makes a dressing room.
Eight who want the best crew: DREAM ON at $44,000 or NO INHERITANCE at $34,000. On a Bali the crew is the whole difference, so book the crew.
Keen sailors: look at a Fountaine Pajot instead. A Bali sails well enough for the BVI’s short hops, but it is built for living, not for the passage.
What is included in a Bali charter rate, and what is not?
All-inclusive (60 of 62 boats). Food, a standard bar, fuel, moorings and water toys are in the rate.
On a Bali this is as close to universal as it gets in the BVI; our page on what all-inclusive actually includes has the fine print.
Plus expenses (2 of 62). Endeavour and MAH NA MAH NA charge yacht and crew only, with an Advance Provisioning Allowance of about 25% on top, and unspent APA comes back at the end.
Outside the rate either way: the cruising permit ($4 per person per day on a BVI-based yacht, $16 on a foreign-based one), National Parks moorings ($25 to $55 per boat per week), the $10 environmental levy, overnight moorings where you take one, and a crew gratuity of 15 to 20%. No VAT.
Our page on BVI charter fees has the full breakdown.
When should you book a Bali for the BVI?
Book the 5.8s and the five-cabin 5.4s a year ahead for Christmas and New Year, and six months out for spring break and Easter. The four-cabin 5.4s are the most numerous boats in the BVI, so one is almost always open, but the best crews go first.
Three of the 62 are seasonal, here from December to April and elsewhere in summer, so their calendars fill from both ends.
The rate shown is the starting rate for the season. Christmas and New Year weeks run above it on most boats, and a few owners add a summer discount from May.
For the value end of the market, our ranked list of the best-value all-inclusive catamarans in the BVI has three Balis on it. For the whole catalogue, the yachts below are every Bali we list for the islands, updated as rates and dates change.

Yes, and it is the one we suggest first for small children. The solid foredeck has no trampolines to fall through, the saloon and cockpit are one room, and the flybridge gives the adults a second deck. Every Bali here sails with a captain and a chef.
