OCEANA 48 Yacht Description

Offered by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht OCEANA 48 is a 49 ft sailing catamaran. OCEANA 48 spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was constructed by the renowned boatbuilder Bali Catamarans in 2021. The ingenious yacht layout features 4 large cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 8 guests.

OCEANA 48 is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the core layout is spread out from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and that's where most of the meals are served. The immersive cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

The sailboat features 2x57HP Yanmar 13.5Kw Onan Generator engines and a generator.

Accommodation

4 queen berth guest cabins each with a private en-suite electric head, shower and sink/vanity. Starboard side heads have dry stall showers, port side heads have wet showers.
All cabins have individually contract air-conditioning for each cabins comfort.
Top desk fly-bridge with lounging and seating with a 360-degree view.
Forward cockpit with solid sun deck and dining area.
Aft cockpit with seating and dining accommodations.
Main deck has a bright and airy main salon (fully air-conditioned) as the galley direct access to the forward cockpit lounge area.
In true Bali catamaran style, the salon back wall lifts up and side widows slide forward to open up the entire space for an alfresco dining experience and panoramic views.
Crew use bunk cabin, but will move for $800 fee.

Cam started sailing as a three-year-old tethered to a Hobie Cat with his grandfather sailing in his home state of New South Wales, Australia. Fast forward some years and when Cam wasn't working for one of Australia's largest real estate companies, you'd find him racing yachts on Sydney Harbour or delivering boats up and down Australia's east coast.

After a brief sabbatical in Croatia in 2022, Cam decided to trade his corporate desk for yacht decks and he hasn't looked back since. He has since sailed in some of the world's best sailing destinations including Croatia, Greece and French Polynesia, but he is now happy to call the Virgin Islands home. He has spent the last two years in the BVI managing one of the Caribbean's highest-rated sailing schools and he loves nothing more than sharing his passion for the ocean with everyone he meets. If guests want to learn a bit more about sailing, Cam is always happy to show them the ropes or get them behind the wheel.

Coming across the seas from the inner city of Sydney, Australia – Julia grew up baking alongside her mother and grandmother learning the home classics and passed down family recipes. After a challenging few years working as pediatric nurse during the global pandemic, she took the opportunity of the world opening back up to explore the world, tasting culinary delights in many parts of Asia and Europe before landing herself in Croatia as a chef onboard flotilla charter yachts for the European summer. This experience ignited a flame for Julia to chase her dream of working as a chef on the water full-time.

Julia comes from a strong hospitality background working in several established venues in Sydney both behind the bar and front of house. She has completed a number of culinary courses with Le Cordon Bleu and the Australian Patisserie Academy and is so passionate about delivering delicious food and a unique hospitality experience.

Outside of the galley there is nothing more relaxing to Julia than perching in the sun with a good book or finding new walks along the coastlines around the world. Coming from a large family, bringing people together around a table to enjoy a meal and share stories is one of life’s greatest moments in her eyes and she cannot wait to welcome you onboard and share this with you all.

So I’ll just cut to the chase and say that this was one of the greatest vacations any of us have ever experienced. Everything exceeded our expectations starting with our fantastic Captain James Cotter and Chef extraordinaire Marie Levraud. Two absolutely delightful people. James handled OCEANA, our Bali 48 catamaran, with ease, confidence and professionalism. It was clear almost immediately that he was an expert yachtsman and that we were in very capable hands. James worked with us prior to our charter to put together the best possible float plan. He blended many beautiful and tranquil locations with a few livelier spots like the Soggy Dollar Bar, Saba Rock and the Bitter End and the Wonky Dog on Anegada for the best lobster dinner I've ever had. I also enjoyed some of the best snorkeling of my life when we stopped at George Dog for the afternoon. Four of us had been to the BVI twice before, bare-boating both of those trips. However, after experiencing a BVI charter with a captain and a chef we would be hard pressed to do it any other way. It allowed us to fully relax and enjoy a stress free week on the water. There were countless highlights on our trip but the first one that came to mind for me was the cuisine. Chef Marie far exceeded our expectations. Every meal, whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, was five star, carefully and thoughtfully planned out. Marie always took the time to explain every meal, the region that inspired each dish and the various ingredients she used. In my lifetime I have never had so many excellent meals back to back for nine days straight. James and Marie also discerned quickly our personal tastes for both food and drinks. Marie always had creative alternatives available just in case there was a food item one of us didn’t care for and James knew exactly the right moment to hand you the perfect cappuccino, cocktail or glass of vino. James and Marie always kept OCEANA clean and organized including our bedrooms and bathrooms. Even as a young child he was passionate about watersports, fishing and outdoor activities. After he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in Milan, he traveled to Australia to work in hospitality at the famous Sydney Opera House, he also lived in Hong Kong for 4 months while interning for a digital start-up.<br /> <br /> In 2017 he found himself back in Italy and decided to spend more time on the water and thus started working for The Yacht Week, a popular flotilla company that operates in the Mediterranean but also in other locations like BVI, Martinique and Tahiti. Starting as a Skipper and moving quickly to higher positions such as Lead Skipper and Route Manager. For 2 years he also held the role of Instructor for Quarterdeck, a company that trains and mentors professional skippers.<br /> <br /> In the 6 years he worked for Quarterdeck and The Yacht Week, he completed more than 80 charters in several locations around the Mediterranean and abroad, covering more than 100,000 nautical miles.<br /> <br /> When not on the water, he also likes to drive motorbikes. One of his most memorable trips was in India driving through the highest motorable pass in the world at +5.000 meters of altitude.<br /> <br /> JUDITH <br /> <br /> Judith was born and raised in The Netherlands. As a child she was always on the water and spent her summers windsurfing as a hobby. Apart from her sporty side, she loves to cook and make people at comfort. She has always been comfortable in the kitchen which led to her study at an international hospitality school in the south of The Netherlands. There she elevated her passion for hospitality to a professional career.<br /> <br /> She has worked in the hospitality industry from a young age and found herself working at high-end luxury events, such as exclusive wedding venues as well as the Paddock Club of the Grand Prix. Judith has passed the Quarterdeck host academy and has worked for a large flotilla company in the Mediterranean. Her specialties are Mediterranean and Asian cuisines. </p></div> </div> </div> </div>
