A Fountaine Pajot catamaran in the BVI costs $15,000 to $96,000 a week for the yacht and crew. That is the listed range across the 44 Fountaine Pajots on this site that cruise the BVI, from 45 to 80 feet, sleeping 6 to 10 guests.
41 of the 44 are all-inclusive, so food, bar, fuel and moorings are in the number. The other three add an APA of about 25%.
The two models that matter are the Samana 59 at $37,000 to $52,000 and the Alegria 67 at $37,000 to $60,000. There is no VAT on a BVI charter.
Fountaine Pajot is the third most common crewed catamaran in the BVI after Lagoon and Bali, and the one with the widest spread of boats: from a refitted 56-footer at $15,000 to a brand-new 80-footer at $96,000.
The sections below set it out by model, by age and by group, with every price taken from the live listing.
45 to 50 feet: 6 boats, $15,000 to $25,000. The Elba 45, Saona 47 and Saba 50, for six to eight.
51 feet: 4 boats, $26,500 to $31,000. The Aura 51, all 2022 to 2025 builds.
56 to 60 feet: 17 boats, $17,199 to $52,000. The Samana 59 and, before it, the Ipanema 58 and Sanya 57.
67 to 72 feet: 15 boats, $33,000 to $60,000. The Alegria 67 and the older Victoria 67.
80 feet: 2 boats, $93,000 to $96,000. The new Thira 80 and the Power 80.
Every yacht named on this page is linked to its listing with the live rate. We are an independent brokerage with access to every yacht on the market, so this list is the market, not one owner’s fleet.
What stands out when you step aboard a Fountaine Pajot?
The flybridge. On a Samana 59 or an Alegria 67 the upper deck is a full lounge, with sunpads, a second table and the helm, and it is where everyone ends up at sunset.
No other production catamaran at the same length gives you as much deck up top.
The second thing is the sailing. A Fountaine Pajot is the lighter boat of the three big builders, so on the longer BVI legs, Jost Van Dyke to Anegada say, the engines stay off.
We have been aboard JEWEL, a 2023 Alegria 67, and TRU NORTH, a 2021 Alegria 67. JEWEL is light-filled, with an easy driftwood, shell and coral style and food that is genuinely delicious; she is a favourite of ours.
TRU NORTH is the dive boat. She sails with a dive master, a freediving instructor, a wing-foiling instructor and a yoga instructor, and carries wing foils, two efoils and kite gear.
Same hull, completely different week.
That is the third thing about the brand: two Fountaine Pajots of the same model differ more than two Lagoons or two Balis do, because owners specify them differently and crews shape them. Read the listing, not just the model name.
Which Fountaine Pajot models exist, and which can you charter in the BVI?
Fountaine Pajot was founded in 1976 near La Rochelle by Jean-François Fountaine, an Olympic sailor, and Yves Pajot. The yard turned to cruising catamarans in the 1980s and has built more than 4,000 since; it also owns Dufour.
The current sailing range runs Isla 40, Elba 45, Tanna 47, Aura 51, Samana 59, Alegria 67 and Thira 80, with the MY power catamarans alongside. In the BVI you will mostly meet the Samana 59 and the Alegria 67.
The BVI fleet: 15 boats of 67 to 72 feet, 17 of 56 to 60 feet, 4 Aura 51s and 6 boats under 51 feet. Every one of them is a sailing catamaran except NANA MARIE, the Power 80.
The two biggest are new this year: MAGIC MOMENTS, a 2026 Thira 80 for ten at $96,000, and NANA MARIE, a 2026 Power 80 for eight at $93,000. Together with the Sunreef 80s they are the top of the BVI catamaran market; our Sunreef guide covers the comparison.
What does an Alegria 67 cost per week in the BVI?
An Alegria 67 in the BVI costs $37,000 to $60,000 a week, yacht and crew, for eight to ten guests. 10 Alegria 67s cruise here, built 2020 to 2026, and most sit between $53,900 and $56,000.
The older Victoria 67s on the same length run $34,000 to $37,000, which is the cheapest way into a 67-foot crewed catamaran in the islands.
JEWEL (2023) and TRU NORTH (2021) both list at $56,000 for eight, and both are boats we have walked. ENCORE (2026, $60,000) and Sapphire (2026, $58,000) are the newest.
For ten guests the five-cabin Alegrias are ENCORE, Bliss (2025, $53,800) and LYRA (refit 2025, $55,000). COLIBRI (2021, $53,900) winters here and summers in the Windward Islands.
LIQUID SKY (2024, $48,000) is the value Alegria. Below her, ADEONA ($37,000, BVI in winter only) and TRUE STORY (refit 2024, $34,000) are the older generation, well kept and a size up for the money.
Two 67s are plus expenses rather than all-inclusive, Azure ($45,000) and LISA OF THE SEAS ($42,500); both spend the summer in Sicily, so compare them on the total.
What does a Samana 59 cost per week in the BVI?
A Samana 59 in the BVI costs $37,000 to $52,000 a week, all-inclusive, for six to ten guests. 11 Samanas built since 2021 cruise here; the four-cabin boats for eight sit at $38,000 to $52,000, the five-cabin boats for ten at $41,294 to $49,900.
The 2012 to 2018 generation on the same length, the Ipanema 58 and Sanya 57, runs $17,199 to $39,547 and includes some of the most-reviewed crews on this site.
BACCHUS (2025, $52,000) is the newest four-cabin Samana for eight. PLUS 10 (2025, $40,000) takes eight in five cabins, so every couple gets a cabin and nobody shares a bathroom.
For ten: PERFECT LANDING (2022, $49,900), OKINAWA (2024, $47,000, BVI in winter), NEHALENNIA (2027, $46,000) and LA PERLE (2025, $41,294).
Tranquila (2024, $43,000), KRAZY KAT (2021, $39,900) and PORT TO VINO (2023, $38,000) are the four-cabin boats under $52,000. OHANA 59 runs as a three-cabin boat for six at $37,000.
The older generation is where the bargains are. BLUE PEPPER (2018, $39,547) takes ten and carries more guest reviews than almost any boat on this site; ODYSSEA ($29,500, nine guests) and PERPETUAL BLUE (refit 2025, $25,000, ten guests) cost less than a new Bali 5.4 and sleep more people.
What does an Aura 51 or a smaller Fountaine Pajot cost?
An Aura 51 in the BVI costs $26,500 to $31,000 a week all-inclusive for eight guests in four cabins. The four here, TEDAVI, G3, HALCYON and BEACHCOMBER, are all 2022 to 2025 builds.
Under 51 feet the range is $15,000 to $25,000: the Saba 50, Saona 47 and Elba 45, for six to eight.
LIBRA 50 (2020, $25,000) is a Saba 50 for eight with the most guest reviews of any Fountaine Pajot under 60 feet on this site. IARA (refit 2023, $23,000) runs as a three-cabin boat for six.
LUNA BLISS (2020, $22,000) is a Saona 47 for eight, and STAND BY ONE (refit 2024, $22,000) is here for the winter only.
At the bottom of the range, Windfall, an Elba 45 refitted in 2026, is $18,000 for six, and Sea Monkeys is $15,000 plus expenses. At this size you lose the lounge deck but keep the sailing, and the money goes to the crew.
Why do Fountaine Pajot prices in the BVI range so widely?
Because the fleet spans three generations on the same lengths. A 2018 Ipanema 58 for ten at $39,547 and a 2025 Samana 59 for eight at $52,000 are the same size of boat; the gap is the year and the model.
On the 67s the spread is $34,000 to $60,000 for the same reason. Bali prices cluster because almost every Bali here is new; Fountaine Pajot prices spread because the brand has been in the BVI charter fleet since the Victoria and the Sanya.
Then the terms. 41 of the 44 are all-inclusive, so their number is close to what you pay.
On the three that are not, a 25% APA on top of a $45,000 boat is about $11,250 more before gratuity.
Five of the 44 are seasonal, in the BVI from about December to April and in the Mediterranean or the Windward Islands for the summer, so their calendars fill from both ends.

Which Fountaine Pajot takes ten guests?
14 of the 44 Fountaine Pajots in the BVI take ten, all in five cabins. The all-inclusive ones are the Alegria 67s ENCORE, Bliss and LYRA; the Samana 59s PERFECT LANDING, OKINAWA, NEHALENNIA and LA PERLE; the older BLUE PEPPER, Saint Sophie and PERPETUAL BLUE; and the Thira 80 MAGIC MOMENTS.
No Fountaine Pajot in the BVI sleeps twelve. For twelve you are looking at a Bali 5.4, a Sunreef 80 or a power catamaran; our page on BVI catamarans for twelve guests lists them.
Ten on a 59 is a full boat and the fifth cabin is a forward cabin, so put the teenagers there. Ten on an Alegria 67 is comfortable, and the three-person crews on ENCORE and Bliss are sized for it.
Our note on how many crew a BVI charter has explains why a third crew member matters more at ten than the extra cabin does.
How does a Fountaine Pajot compare with a Lagoon or a Bali?
At 50 to 59 feet the three overlap in the BVI: Fountaine Pajot $17,199 to $52,000, Lagoon $17,900 to $43,000, Bali $26,000 to $34,000. At 60 to 69 feet it is Fountaine Pajot $34,000 to $60,000 against Lagoon $33,000 to $61,000; Bali stops at 58 feet.
Fountaine Pajot is the sailor’s choice and has the best upper deck. Lagoon has the widest choice, 83 boats against 44.
Bali has the one-room main deck and the solid foredeck.
If your group will spend the week on the flybridge, this is the brand. If it will spend the week in the saloon and the cockpit with small children running between them, read our Bali guide for the BVI.
If you want the most crews to choose from at a given price, read the Lagoon guide.
Above 70 feet Fountaine Pajot has only the two 80-footers; a Lagoon Seventy 7 at $69,000 to $84,000 or a Sunreef 80 is the usual alternative. Our page on which catamaran brand is best for a crewed BVI charter sets all four side by side.
Is a Fountaine Pajot right for a family, a group of friends, or a couple?
Friends who sail: this is the brand. A Samana 59 for eight at $39,900 to $52,000, and ask for a captain who likes to put the sails up.
A family of eight: an Alegria 67 at $48,000 to $56,000 gives every couple a real cabin and the parents the flybridge. TRU NORTH if the teenagers dive or foil.
Ten friends on a budget: BLUE PEPPER at $39,547 or PERPETUAL BLUE at $25,000. Older hulls, strong crews, and thousands less than a new boat for the same beds.
A couple, or two couples: OHANA 59 or IARA, both set up for six, so the spare cabin is a dressing room.
Eight who want the newest boat in the islands: MAGIC MOMENTS at $96,000, or ENCORE at $60,000 if 67 feet is enough.
What is included in a Fountaine Pajot charter rate, and what is not?
All-inclusive (41 of 44 boats). Food, a standard bar, fuel, moorings and water toys are in the rate.
This is the BVI norm, and our page on what all-inclusive actually includes has the fine print, including the premium-spirits and lobster exceptions.
Plus expenses (3 of 44). Azure, LISA OF THE SEAS and Sea Monkeys charge yacht and crew only, with an Advance Provisioning Allowance of about 25% on top, and unspent APA comes back at the end.
Outside the rate either way: the cruising permit ($4 per person per day on a BVI-based yacht, $16 on a foreign-based one), National Parks moorings ($25 to $55 per boat per week), the $10 environmental levy, overnight moorings where you take one, and a crew gratuity of 15 to 20%. No VAT.
Our page on BVI charter fees has the full breakdown.
When should you book a Fountaine Pajot for the BVI?
Book the 2025 and 2026 boats, the five-cabin Samanas and the 80-footers a year ahead for Christmas and New Year, and six months out for spring break and Easter. The Aura 51s and the older 58s and 59s are the boats still open late, and they are often the better crews.
Five of the 44 are seasonal and leave for the Mediterranean in May, so for a May or June week ask early which boats are still here.
The rate shown is the starting rate for the season. Christmas and New Year weeks run above it on most boats.

How much does it cost to charter a Fountaine Pajot in the BVI per week?
$15,000 to $96,000 a week for the yacht and crew, across 44 Fountaine Pajots from 45 to 80 feet. 41 are all-inclusive; three add about 25% APA. There is no VAT on a BVI charter.
How much does a Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67 cost to charter?
$37,000 to $60,000 a week in the BVI for eight to ten guests. JEWEL and TRU NORTH are $56,000; ENCORE, a 2026 for ten, is $60,000; LIQUID SKY is the value pick at $48,000.
How much does a Fountaine Pajot Samana 59 cost to charter?
$37,000 to $52,000 a week all-inclusive. Four-cabin boats for eight run $38,000 to $52,000; five-cabin boats for ten $41,294 to $49,900.
How many guests can a Fountaine Pajot catamaran take?
Six to ten. The 45 to 50-footers take six to eight, the Aura 51 eight, the Samana 59 and Alegria 67 eight or ten depending on cabins. None in the BVI sleeps twelve.
Are Fountaine Pajot charters in the BVI all-inclusive?
Mostly. 41 of the 44 Fountaine Pajots cruising the BVI are listed all-inclusive, covering food, a standard bar, fuel and moorings. Gratuity is extra on all of them, usually 10 to 20 percent.
Is a Fountaine Pajot or a Lagoon better for a BVI charter?
A Fountaine Pajot sails better and has the bigger flybridge; a Lagoon gives you more boats to choose from and the only route above 70 feet besides the two FP 80s. At 59 and 67 feet the prices overlap, so choose on the crew and the layout, not the badge.
