Sunreef Catamaran Charter in the BVI: The 2026 Guide

A Sunreef catamaran in the BVI costs $26,000 to $112,000 a week for the yacht and crew, before expenses. That is the listed range across the 29 Sunreefs on this site that cruise the BVI, from 60 to 88 feet, sleeping 6 to 12 guests.

Most are quoted plus expenses: add an Advance Provisioning Allowance of about 25% for fuel, food, drink and moorings, then a crew gratuity of 15 to 20%. There is no VAT on a BVI charter.

Every yacht named on this page is linked to its listing with the live rate. We are an independent brokerage with access to every yacht on the market, so this list is the market, not one owner’s fleet.

What stands out when you step aboard a Sunreef?

The first thing you notice on a Sunreef is width. An 80 is 37 feet 7 inches across, and the salon, the cockpit and the flybridge feel like rooms in a villa rather than spaces on a boat.

We have been aboard three of the Sunreefs on this page. On NAUTI NICKEL it was the salon: leather, a backlit bar, and lighting someone had actually thought about.

On MARIA THERESE it was the flybridge, a dining deck under a retractable windscreen with a bar and a barbecue. Her foredeck has a jacuzzi that switches from hot tub to cold plunge.

On ENDLESS HORIZON it was the finish, clean lines and marble through every space. Her crew threw a Tahitian cocktail evening with tuna tartare served in coconuts.

The second thing is the toy count. Sunreefs are built with the volume for serious toys, so NAUTI NICKEL carries a jet ski and a full-size chase boat, and MARIA THERESE a floating bar, e-foils and a jet drive.

On a BVI week, where you live outside, that is the difference you feel every day.

Which Sunreef models exist, and which can you charter in the BVI?

Sunreef Yachts is a Polish yard founded in Gdańsk in 2002 by Francis Lapp. Its first boat, the Sunreef 74 of 2003, was the first oceangoing luxury catamaran with a flybridge, and every model since follows that template.

The sailing range is the Sunreef 50, 60, 70, 80 and 100. Each step up adds beam more than length: a 60 is 35 feet wide, a 70 is 35 feet 7 inches, an 80 is 37 feet 7 inches.

That is why an 80 feels like a different class of boat rather than ten more feet of the same.

The power range runs 60 to 100 feet, with the Supreme 68 as its compact flagship. Above that sit the ULTIMA line from 44 to 122 feet and the custom superyachts.

In the BVI you can charter the 80s, the Supreme 68, and the 60- and 70-footers. Eight Sunreefs of 80 feet and over cruise here, MARIA THERESE is the Supreme 68, and there are ten boats of 70 to 79 feet and eleven of 60 to 69.

Not here: the ULTIMA line, the explorers and the Sunreef 100.

What does a Sunreef 80 cost per week in the BVI?

A Sunreef 80 in the BVI costs $87,000 to $112,000 a week, yacht and crew, before expenses. Eight Sunreefs of 80 feet and over cruise the BVI from this site.

Four call it home in both seasons, and those four are where to start.

Four more 80-footers winter in the BVI or list it among wider Caribbean grounds: ENDLESS HORIZON at $87,000, ENTRE 4 at $94,000, SOL at $106,000, and the 88-foot MIIA, a 2026 power catamaran at $110,000.

The $22,000 between BLESSED and NAUTI NICKEL is not about size. All four are 80 feet with five cabins.

It is about what comes with the boat.

Why is NAUTI NICKEL the most expensive Sunreef 80 in the BVI?

NAUTI NICKEL costs $22,000 more than BLESSED because she runs as two boats: her tender, T/T RONIN, is a full-size chase boat, and her crew of Captain Michael and Chef Jen has stayed together charter after charter. The other three 80s give you the same hull and the same five cabins for $16,000 to $22,000 less.

The $50,000 to $80,000 figures you may have seen for a Sunreef 80 are not BVI high-season rates for a boat you can book. Our post on what a Sunreef 80 costs to charter in the BVI takes both questions apart, boat by boat.

Can you charter a Sunreef 100 in the BVI?

No. There is no Sunreef 100 available for charter in the BVI or anywhere in the Caribbean.

Sunreef launched the first Sunreef 100 Eco in June 2026, and several 100 Sunreef Power hulls were delivered in 2025 and 2026, but none are offered for charter in this region. Any price you see for a Sunreef 100 charter week is an estimate, not a listing.

The closest thing you can actually book is MIIA, an 88-foot Sunreef power catamaran launched in 2026, listed from $110,000 a week for ten guests in five cabins. She cruises the BVI and the Bahamas.

If a Sunreef 100 enters the Caribbean charter market, we will have access to her, because we work with every yacht on the market rather than one fleet. Until then, the honest answer is that she does not exist here.

What is a Sunreef Eco, and does it matter on a charter?

A Sunreef Eco is a Sunreef with a solar skin built into the hull and superstructure and a large battery bank behind it. For a guest it means one thing above all: the generator stays off at night.

The line started with the Sunreef 80 Eco, and NALANI, a 78-foot Sunreef 80 Eco listed from $79,000 a week, is the one that winters in the BVI. MARIA THERESE is not badged Eco but carries a 100 kW battery bank that does the same job: completely silent nights at anchor.

If silence at anchor matters to your group, ask for one of those two. If it does not, the Eco badge changes little about the week itself.

What does a 60- or 70-foot Sunreef cost to charter in the BVI?

A 60-foot Sunreef in the BVI costs $26,000 to $67,000 a week. A 70-footer costs $43,000 to $95,000.

Those are wide bands, and the reason is age, not length.

Take the two 70-footers that both call the BVI home. MAVERICK is a 2013 Sunreef sailing catamaran, refit in 2019, listed from $44,500 for nine guests.

VELA is the same length, a 2026 build, listed from $79,000 for eight. Same hull size, $34,500 apart.

You are paying for a new boat, not a bigger one.

The 60s show the same pattern:

  • EUPHORIA, refit 2022, from $26,000 for six guests. The entry point.
  • AMAYA from $42,500 and RELENTLESS 60 from $48,000, both for eight.
  • GYRFALCON from $53,000 for ten guests in five cabins, the only 60 that sleeps ten.
  • VIVI from $55,000 and ENCORE, built 2026, from $56,000. The newest 60s.

One 68-footer is worth singling out. MARIA THERESE is a 2024 Sunreef Supreme 68 power catamaran at $67,000 for eight guests.

We have been aboard. She feels like a modern New York apartment at sea, with a three-level flybridge dining space under a retractable windscreen, a foredeck jacuzzi that switches between hot tub and cold plunge, and a 100 kW battery bank that keeps the nights completely silent.

For a family of eight who do not need a fifth cabin, she is the best value on this page.

Sailing or power Sunreef: which is right for the BVI?

For the BVI, pick on living space and silence, not on speed. The islands sit close together, so a sailing catamaran’s slower passages cost you an hour here and there, not a day.

What separates the two in practice is the engine room and the deck plan.

Power Sunreefs carry more volume aft, with bigger generators and battery banks. MARIA THERESE’s 100 kW bank means no generator at night.

NAUTI NICKEL’s power layout is what makes room for a backlit bar and a jacuzzi flybridge. BLESSED and MIIA are the other power catamarans in the 80-foot band.

Choose this side if your group wants the boat as a villa first and a boat second.

Sailing Sunreefs give you the sail itself, which in the BVI trade winds is the point for some groups, and they tend to list a little lower for the same length. MISCHIEVOUS and OHANA are both sailing 80s that take twelve.

ENDLESS HORIZON carries a fourth crew member whose job is the guests and the kids, so a family can split in two and both halves are looked after. We have been aboard her too: clean lines, marble finishes, and a crew that threw a Tahitian cocktail evening with tuna tartare served in coconuts.

That is the hosting an 80-foot sailing cat has room for.

Our comparison of sailing and power catamarans in the BVI goes deeper on the trade-off.

How does a Sunreef compare with a Lagoon or a Fountaine Pajot?

At 60 feet the three builders price almost alike in the BVI: Sunreef $26,000 to $67,000 a week, Lagoon $33,000 to $61,000, Fountaine Pajot $34,000 to $60,000. The Sunreef premium appears above 75 feet, where Lagoon stops at $84,000 and Sunreef runs to $112,000.

The money goes into beam and finish. A Sunreef 80 is 37 feet 7 inches wide, and the full-width master cabins, the flybridge dining and the foredeck jacuzzis all come from those extra feet.

Each boat is semi-custom, which is why two Sunreef 80s with identical specifications can feel like different yachts and list $20,000 apart.

If your group wants the catamaran as a villa first, the premium buys exactly that. If you want a well-run crewed catamaran for the BVI and the finish matters less, a Lagoon or a Fountaine Pajot does the week just as well for less.

Our guide to which catamaran brand is best for a crewed BVI charter puts the three side by side.

Bali is the family end of the market, 43 to 58 feet with the one-room main deck and the solid foredeck; our Bali guide for the BVI covers it.

Is a Sunreef right for a family, a group of friends, or a couple?

A family of eight: MARIA THERESE at $67,000. Four cabins, the silent battery bank, the foredeck jacuzzi, and more toys than the children will get through.

VELA at $79,000 is the newest alternative.

Twelve friends: MISCHIEVOUS at $96,000 or OHANA at $94,000, the only two Sunreefs in the BVI that sleep twelve. Both are sailing 80s with five cabins, and twelve-berth catamarans go first for school-holiday weeks.

Ten guests who want the best boat here: NAUTI NICKEL at $112,000, for the chase boat and the crew. BLESSED at $90,000 is the same hull and cabins without the chase boat.

A couple or two, with guests: a 60-footer. EUPHORIA at $26,000 is the entry point, ENCORE at $56,000 the newest.

If you are between two sizes, go up. On a Sunreef the extra ten feet is mostly beam and deck, and in the BVI you live outside.

What is included in a Sunreef charter rate, and what is not?

The weekly rate always covers the yacht, the crew and the crew’s wages. What else it covers depends on the contract, and Sunreefs in the BVI come on two kinds.

  • All-inclusive (18 of the 29 BVI boats). Food, a standard bar, fuel, moorings and water toys are in the rate. NAUTI NICKEL, MISCHIEVOUS, OHANA, BLESSED and ENDLESS HORIZON are all listed this way. The number you see is close to the number you pay, plus gratuity.
  • Plus expenses (11 of 29). The rate covers yacht and crew only. You pay an Advance Provisioning Allowance up front, usually 25% of the charter fee, and the captain spends it on food, drink, fuel, dockage and permits. Unspent APA comes back to you at the end.

Either way, these BVI costs sit outside the base rate and are normally paid from the APA or by the yacht:

  • Cruising permit: $4 per person per day on a BVI-based yacht, $16 on a foreign-based one, under the Cruising and Home Port Permit Act 2021.
  • National Parks mooring permit: $25 to $55 per boat per week, by guest count, for day moorings at The Baths and The Indians.
  • Environmental levy: $10 per person on arrival.
  • Overnight moorings: $30 to $55 a night where you take one.
  • Crew gratuity: 15 to 20% of the charter fee, customary and at your discretion, handed to the captain at the end of the week.
  • VAT: none. The BVI does not charge VAT on charters.

Our page on BVI charter fees has the full breakdown with sources.

When should I book a Sunreef for the BVI?

Book a Sunreef for Christmas or New Year a year ahead, and any school-holiday week at least six months out. The 80-footers that take ten and twelve guests are the scarcest boats in the BVI fleet, and festive weeks book well above the listed rate.

  • About a third of these boats are seasonal. They spend summer in the Mediterranean and cross to the BVI for winter, so they are only here from roughly December to April, and their calendars fill from both ends.
  • The rate shown is the starting rate. The published season line for a specific week in January or February can sit above it. We confirm the rate for your dates before you commit, not after.

People also ask

How much does it cost to charter a Sunreef catamaran in the BVI per week?

$26,000 to $112,000 a week for the yacht and crew, across 29 Sunreefs from 60 to 88 feet. Add about 25% APA on a plus-expenses contract and a 15 to 20% crew gratuity. No VAT applies in the BVI.

How much does a Sunreef 80 cost to charter?

$87,000 to $112,000 a week in the BVI. NAUTI NICKEL is the top of the band at $112,000; BLESSED is the lowest of the four BVI-based 80s at $90,000.

Can I charter a Sunreef 100?

Not in the BVI or the Caribbean. The model exists, with the first Sunreef 100 Eco launched in June 2026, but no Sunreef 100 is offered for charter in this region. MIIA, an 88-foot Sunreef power catamaran at $110,000, is the largest Sunreef you can book here.

How many guests can a Sunreef catamaran take?

Six to twelve. Sixty-footers take six to ten, 70-footers eight to ten, and 80-footers eight to twelve. MISCHIEVOUS and OHANA are the only two Sunreefs in the BVI that sleep twelve.

Are Sunreef charters all-inclusive?

Eighteen of the 29 Sunreefs cruising the BVI are listed all-inclusive, covering food, a standard bar, fuel and moorings. The rest are plus expenses with a 25% APA. Gratuity is extra on both.

Is a Sunreef worth the premium over a Lagoon or Fountaine Pajot?

If you want a catamaran that feels like a villa, yes. The extra cost buys beam, a full flybridge deck and a semi-custom interior. If you want a well-run crewed catamaran for the BVI and the finish matters less, a Lagoon 60 at $33,000 to $61,000 does the week just as well.
