Chartering a catamaran in the BVI for 10 guests is absolutely doable — but the layout matters more than ever. You’ll need at least 5 guest cabins, and the right setup depends entirely on the group dynamic.

For example, we often work with 5 couples, 2 families, or mixed groups — and each of these needs something different. Five equal cabins is ideal for couples, but hard to find. Many yachts have one master or one or two VIP cabins, with the fifth being smaller, bunk-style, or placed in a less private part of the yacht — fine for kids, not for adults.

Different layouts for 10 guests:

Five couples: We look for 5 equal queen cabins, all with en-suites. These are rarer, but we know exactly which yachts offer them.

Two families: A layout with 2 VIP or larger cabins for the parents and 3 guest cabins (doubles or twins) for the kids works well.

Mixed group or singles: Go for flexible setups — twin cabins that convert to doubles or include bunks.

One large family: Prioritize layout with a mix of cabin types and enough separation — teens often appreciate their own space, and grandparents may prefer easier access.
