BVI Catamaran Charters
A BVI catamaran charter is hands down the best way to explore the British Virgin Islands – and we recommend them to 90% of our clients. They’re stable, comfortable, and perfectly suited for the calm, protected waters of the BVI. With two hulls, wide decks, and open living spaces, catamarans feel more like floating beach villas than traditional yachts – but with the freedom to move.
Catamarans offer unbeatable value. They’re all-inclusive, with fuel, meals, drinks, and crew included in the weekly rate. And with a huge range of options from 50 to 80+ feet, there’s something for every group and budget – from couples to large families, from relaxed getaways to luxury experiences.
A typical BVI catamaran charter covers the full island loop with stops at Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Cooper Island. You’ll sail for a few hours a day, anchor in quiet bays, snorkel straight off the back, eat fresh meals onboard, and visit the BVI’s iconic beach bars.
Entry-Level BVI Catamaran Charters ($15K–$30K)
This is where the full BVI crewed catamaran charter experience starts – and for many of our clients, it’s the best value in the BVI. These catamarans are under 60 feet and come with 2 crew: a captain and a chef/stewardess. You’re getting a private yacht, personalized service, and an all-inclusive vacation that outperforms most resorts on comfort, flexibility, and cost.
We recommend this range to families and friend groups who want an affordable and relaxed way to explore the islands. Meals are cooked fresh onboard – and even at this level, the food is much better than what you’ll find ashore. Itineraries include the full BVI loop, with stops at Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Cooper Island.
What to expect in this category:
- Catamarans 47-60ft
- 2 crew (captain + chef/stewardess)
- 3–4 guest cabins, up to 8 guests
- Full or half board catering options
- Standard water toys selection (paddleboards, kayaks, seabobs, towables, etc.)
Best BVI Catamarans from $15,000-$30,000/week
Premium Crewed Catamarans in BVI ($30K–$60K)
This is where the charter experience takes a clear step up – larger catamarans (60–70ft), 3 crew onboard, and a higher level of service across the board. The third crew member makes a real difference: proper table service, smoother transitions, and a more polished, hands-off experience for guests.
We recommend this tier for travelers who want more space to spread out, standout meals, premium drinks, and a crew that runs the trip like clockwork. These yachts deliver the full BVI loop – but the feel onboard is dialed in, effortless, and a major upgrade from the entry-level range.
What to expect in this category:
- Catamarans 60–70ft
- 3 professional crew (captain, chef, stewardess)
- 4–5 guest cabins for 6–10 guests
- Full-service dining: chef-prepared meals, premium bar, daily table service
- Expanded toys: paddleboards, seabobs, e-foils, floating docks
- Full BVI loop with smoother, crew-managed itineraries
Best BVI Catamarans from $30,000–$60,000/week
Luxury BVI Catamaran Charters ($60K+/week)
This is top-tier chartering – 70ft+ catamarans with 4 or more crew, fewer guest cabins for more space, and a full onboard hospitality team. These yachts are designed for guests who want high-end comfort, privacy, and execution at a luxury resort level – but with the freedom to move.
We recommend this range for milestone trips, high-end travelers, or returning guests ready to upgrade. You can expect large, hotel-style suites, fine dining, spa-style amenities, and crews that run like a professional hospitality team. It’s a fully immersive experience, tailored to your preferences and managed down to the detail.
What to expect in this category:
- Catamarans 70-80ft+
- 4+ professional crew (captain, chef, stewardess, deckhand)
- 3-4 spacious guest cabins, for 6-8 guests
- Full hospitality-level service: gourmet dining, cocktails, turndown, laundry
- Personalized menus, top-shelf bar, wine pairings
- Full toy packages: jetskis, e-foils, diving gear, seabobs and lots of floats
- Custom itineraries with concierge-level planning and flexibility
Best BVI Catamarans from $60,000-$100,000/week
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a BVI catamaran charter cost?
Expect to pay $15K–$30K/week for entry-level yachts, $30K–$60K for premium charters with 3 crew, and $60K+ for luxury catamarans 70ft+ with full hospitality teams.
What is included in a fully-crewed BVI catamaran charter?
Do I need sailing experience to charter a catamaran in the BVI?
No. All our charters are fully crewed – you won’t need to lift a finger unless you want to. Your captain handles the sailing and your crew manages the rest.
What’s the best time of year to charter a catamaran in the BVI?
December through April is peak season. May and June offer better value with good weather. Hurricane season (July–November) has risk but lower rates and fewer crowds.
Can I choose the itinerary or is it fixed?
Your crew customizes the itinerary based on your preferences and conditions. Most charters visit Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Cooper Island — but nothing is locked in.

I recently tasked Chris to find a last minute charter for myself and my 3 teenage children. He provided me with 3 exceptional catamarans to choose from and worked tirelessly to meet my family’s needs. He was always available to answer all of my questions and meet our specific requirements. With his help I chose the 56’ Lagoon A3. I can honestly say that after many years of chartering sailing yachts I have never experienced such a high level of hospitality, service and professionalism…

My family of 6 (wife + 4 kids aged 11-20) just completed a 7 day USVI/BVI yacht cruise on a 50’ Catamaran. Louis helped us find a great yacht with a great crew that was perfect for my family. His communication was perfect & timely and since it was my first vacation ever on the water he was very patient with all my questions. Sending a wire to an international company to secure the charter caused some anxiety but Louis made me comfortable with the situation and it all worked out perfect!

Nadja with DMA Yachting was amazing from start to finish. She guided us thru the process of choosing a vessel that fit our needs and budget. She was in contact with us prior to, during and after our AMAZING charter. The Captain (Dwight) and Chef (Tia) really exceeded all expectations and the BVI is beautiful. If you are looking to charter a vessel for the BVI or anywhere, reach out to DMA Yachting and ask for Nadja.

Our team isn’t guessing – we’ve lived it. Daniel and John have sailed the BVI extensively on their own catamarans, and Marcelle spent years working as a chef aboard crewed yachts in the Virgin Islands. When you talk to us, you’re speaking with people who know these trips firsthand.
