CAPTAIN – Joren Dieben (Dutch)
SAILING AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Joren began his yachting experience in 2011 where he raced at the highest level in Holland with eight different sail events every year. From 2018, he gained experience as a deckhand throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean, completing several Atlantic crossings and facing all types of weather patterns. Joren joined the IKIGAI crew in 2022 as a first mate and is excited to form a seamless Captain/Hostess team with Lotte to provide an unforgettable sailing experience for guests.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As Captain, the overall running of the vessel is Joren’s responsibility; this includes the navigation, safety and experience of all onboard. He ensures that IKIGAI runs smoothly and efficiently whilst adhering to all the appropriate regulations.

CHEF/HOSTESS – Lotte Bouwmeester (Dutch)
SAILING AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Working on private yachts since 2014, Lotte has held many positions onboard a variety of prestigious yachts, including skipper, deckhand, chef and first mate. Lotte’s experience extends to racing also, completing several regattas in the Mediterranean. She is also no stranger to IKIGAI, having worked as a chef onboard since November 2022. Making a dream team with Joren, Lotte is looking forward to hosting charters onboard as the season takes off.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the Chef/Hostess, Lotte is responsible for the crew and guest meals throughout the charter, ensuring that the food is enjoyable, and the interior of the yacht is clean and serviceable. She is a creative chef, varying her meals to provide a variety and according to the location of IKIGAI to have as much relevance as possible to the country being visited.
