Tortola Island is the biggest of the British Virgin Islands. It is where most BVI yacht charters begin and end, with Nanny Cay Marina as the main base. It’s also a great spot for diving and snorkeling, especially around Smuggler’s Cove and Cane Garden Bay. Don’t miss a stop at the historic Callwood Rum Distillery for a local sip.

For those who have the time and are interested in discovering the land-based wildlife, a hike up the Sage Mountain is well worth it.
