Twelve guests is the legal ceiling for a BVI charter, and it is where catamaran shopping gets hard. Only 12 crewed catamarans in the BVI take 12 guests at all (most crewed cats top out at 10 guests), and just two of them, VOYAGE 590 and VOYAGE 590e, give six couples their own double cabin. Every other boat reaches 12 with single cabins, twins, or a pullman berth, the fold-down bunk brochures like to gloss over. That is not a flaw, it is a fit question: singles and twins are exactly right when some of your twelve are kids or friends happy to bunk, and wrong when you are six couples.
We have booked every catamaran on this list for our own clients. Below is what each one actually sleeps, what we paid attention to on board, and who she suits. The full 12-guest fleet is in the live listing further down.
