Book a “$40,000 yacht” in the Med or the Bahamas and you are usually looking at a base rate: the APA for food, drinks, and fuel goes on top, typically 25 to 40%, plus local tax. The Boat You Are Actually Getting
In this bracket our fleet gives you a 55 to 65 foot catamaran with 4 to 5 guest cabins. Groups of 8 are the sweet spot, and several boats in the band take 10 or 12.
At this money, expect 3 crew as the minimum: a captain, a chef, and a stewardess. Some boats in the bracket carry a 4th, usually a deckhand, and that extra pair of hands is super valuable: the toys go in the water faster and the service never pauses. What You Get On Board
The boat gives you a flybridge with loungers, a shaded cockpit table where most meals happen, and cabins reset daily. Your chef cooks breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the preference sheet you fill in before the trip.
The bar is stocked and included, with sensible limits: local rums, beer, house wine, and standard spirits, poured daily. It is not a bottomless premium cellar; champagne and top-shelf bottles are always available on request and added to the provisioning list.
Water toys at this level are genuinely good. Paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear, tow tubes, and floating mats are standard, and several boats in the bracket carry seabobs or efoils. Fuel for a normal BVI route is included, and days are short hops of 1 to 2 hours, so you spend your time at anchor, not underway.
