Gullwing is a brand-new 2024 Lagoon 55, and she’s in perfect condition. The first thing that caught our attention was how open and spacious she felt, especially on deck.

The flybridge and foredeck are incredible, and up the front, there’s this amazing U-shaped couch that’s just calling your name. It’s the ultimate spot to sit while underway, with the wind in your hair looking to your new horizons!

We started outside, where all the toys were displayed—Gullwing has plenty to keep guests entertained. There are lots of floats you can hang off the stern, making it a great platform for swimming and lounging. It’s the kind of setup where you could easily spend hours just enjoying the water.

Inside, we walked into the aftermath of what must’ve been a spectacular lunch. Chef Anna was tidying up, but the air still smelled amazing. Our broker, John Boullin, had been lucky enough to join the meal earlier, and his words pretty much summed it up: “Fantastic yacht, fantastic crew, the Turkish meze was insane, and the aircon was efficient.” I came onboard on John’s recommendation—and let’s just say he wasn’t wrong.

Even though lunch was over, there was still an incredible spread of baked goods left out. White chocolate cream blondies, double chocolate brownies, blueberry streusel muffins, sourdough focaccia, and dillisk seaweed bread rolls—it was all there, and it looked almost too good to eat. Anna told me that the yacht’s owner has a serious sweet tooth and insists on serving two desserts every day. “He loves cake,” she said with a laugh. And apparently, he insists that guests of Gullwing get served dessert twice per day.

After my dessert detour, we toured the cabins. Gullwing has 4 equally sized VIP cabins, which makes her perfect for groups of friends sharing the cost. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and clearly cared for down to the smallest details. Even the little gifts left on the beds for guests to take home were such a thoughtful touch—it’s those small things that really make a difference.

Gullwing is one of those yachts that feels like it was designed for good times. From the open deck spaces to the incredible food and the welcoming crew, she delivers on every level. Whether you’re here for the water toys, the desserts, or just the sheer relaxation, this yacht is all about making sure you have a great time. This effort is largely due to her fantastic crew, Captain William Hamilton, Deckhand/Stewardess Natia Barber, and Chef Anna Kane.

GULLWING Yacht Description

Advertised by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht GULLWING is a 55 ft sailing catamaran. The most attractive features of GULLWING are her most appealing features and fantastic layout. GULLWING spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was constructed by the ship builder Lagoon in 2024. The ingenious yacht layout features 4 large cabins and easily accommodates up to 8 guests.

GULLWING is offered primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where the guests spend most of their time. The modern cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

Captain: Will Hamilton

Will grew up on the water spending summers sailing, fishing, water skiing and wake boarding in Ireland. He began working in the sailing industry at the young age of 16 as an instructor. Each year working his way up the ranks gaining the skills to eventually start teaching learn-to-sail holidays in Greece. He then moved on to be a charter skipper while studying for his degree in Computing. At the time, sailing was a fun summer job. He never thought of it as a full time career until Anna joined him in Croatia.

The dream of working in the Caribbean formed quickly between them but they decided to finish their studies and gain experience in respective fields before taking the plunge. Will took a job as a Graphic Designer for a PR company in London which really taught him what kind of life he wanted to live. He appreciates living on the water everyday and knows how lucky he is to do so! He loves delivering holidays of a lifetime to guests, with many of them becoming lifetime friends.

Anna grew up in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating University she went into education and became a teacher for children with special educational needs. However, her love for cooking kept growing, when Will began working in the charter industry she jumped at the opportunity to go with him and become a chef on board.

Anna always dreamed of attending the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School to expand ger culinary skills, which finally became a reality in 2021. The intensive 12 week course taught so many new skills and gave her invaluable experience. Anna plans on studying cooking further this summer in the Ashburton Yacht Chef course. She loves learning new techniques that she can bring into the galley. Her biggest passion is creating food that brings joy to guests and makes their holiday that little bit more special.

Natia was born in Maui, HI and did all her schooling in California. In 2019 she attended the California College of Ayurveda and earned her certificate. Her love for the ocean and nature grew in the heart and magic of the island of Maui as well as her experience in hospitality. Her career has been mainly rooted in the service industry and her experience is a wide range of categories such as catering, bartending special occasions, opening new restaurants, managing and being lead server.
She likes to call herself a jack of all trades as her resume further consists of jobs in housekeeping, office management, spa management, birth work and holistic health. She has many friends in the Yacht Industry that encouraged her to dive into the industry knowing she would be an amazing fit! Natia loves to travel and to help create those beautiful memories for others.

I really don’t think I can come up with a single negative or even an area for improvement. Will, Anna, and Natia were fantastic. Will was completely accommodating to anything we wanted to do, great personality and great stories. Anna and the food was overtop and amazing every meal. Natia with drinks, cleaning, and assistance in all things… all amazing. Boat was very nice, in great condition, the perfect size, and had great toys.

Anna was the most amazing hostess we could have possibly asked for. I went into the week thinking the food would be bagels or sandwiches. Instead, we received beautiful plates of fruits, homemade desserts and absolutely incredible meals. I’m really not sure how I am supposed to adjust back to my life WITHOUT Anna. She always would have little surprises for us when we came back such as surprise brownies, hidden snacks or orange bundt cake. In addition to being an amazing hostess/chef, she’s an absolutely lovely person. She’s such a joy to chat with about anything. She has such a bright, effervescent personality that makes her the best hostess on TYW. If I come back to YW, I will absolutely request Anna/Will. They’re an amazing combo but Anna is just in a league of her own when it comes to being a hostess. Some highlights: Eggs Benedict, Homemade Brownies, Anna slapping the bag and forgetting to swallow the wine that came with it. Any crew that gets Anna from this week on is so lucky. Most importantly to everything above - Anna is beautiful AND kind.

He began working in the sailing industry at the young age of 16 as an instructor. Each year working his way up the ranks gaining the skills to eventually start teaching learn-to-sail holidays in Greece. He then moved on to be a charter skipper while studying for his degree in Computing. At the time, sailing was a fun summer job. He never thought of it as a full time career until Anna joined him in Croatia.<br /> <br /> The dream of working in the Caribbean formed quickly between them but they decided to finish their studies and gain experience in respective fields before taking the plunge. Will took a job as a Graphic Designer for a PR company in London which really taught him what kind of life he wanted to live. He appreciates living on the water everyday and knows how lucky he is to do so! He loves delivering holidays of a lifetime to guests, with many of them becoming lifetime friends.<br /> <br /> Anna grew up in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating University she went into education and became a teacher for children with special educational needs. However, her love for cooking kept growing, when Will began working in the charter industry she jumped at the opportunity to go with him and become a chef on board.<br /> <br /> Anna always dreamed of attending the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School to expand ger culinary skills, which finally became a reality in 2021. The intensive 12 week course taught so many new skills and gave her invaluable experience. Anna plans on studying cooking further this summer in the Ashburton Yacht Chef course. She loves learning new techniques that she can bring into the galley. Her biggest passion is creating food that brings joy to guests and makes their holiday that little bit more special.<br /> <br /> Natia was born in Maui, HI and did all her schooling in California. In 2019 she attended the California College of Ayurveda and earned her certificate. Her love for the ocean and nature grew in the heart and magic of the island of Maui as well as her experience in hospitality. Her career has been mainly rooted in the service industry and her experience is a wide range of categories such as catering, bartending special occasions, opening new restaurants, managing and being lead server. <br /> She likes to call herself a jack of all trades as her resume further consists of jobs in housekeeping, office management, spa management, birth work and holistic health. She has many friends in the Yacht Industry that encouraged her to dive into the industry knowing she would be an amazing fit! Will took a job as a Graphic Designer for a PR company in London which really taught him what kind of life he wanted to live. He loves delivering holidays of a lifetime to guests, with many of them becoming lifetime friends.<br /> <br /> Anna grew up in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating University she went into education and became a teacher for children with special educational needs. However, her love for cooking kept growing, when Will began working in the charter industry she jumped at the opportunity to go with him and become a chef on board.<br /> <br /> Anna always dreamed of attending the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School to expand ger culinary skills, which finally became a reality in 2021. The intensive 12 week course taught so many new skills and gave her invaluable experience. Anna plans on studying cooking further this summer in the Ashburton Yacht Chef course. She loves learning new techniques that she can bring into the galley. Her biggest passion is creating food that brings joy to guests and makes their holiday that little bit more special.<br /> <br /> Natia was born in Maui, HI and did all her schooling in California. In 2019 she attended the California College of Ayurveda and earned her certificate. Her love for the ocean and nature grew in the heart and magic of the island of Maui as well as her experience in hospitality. Her career has been mainly rooted in the service industry and her experience is a wide range of categories such as catering, bartending special occasions, opening new restaurants, managing and being lead server. <br /> She likes to call herself a jack of all trades as her resume further consists of jobs in housekeeping, office management, spa management, birth work and holistic health. She has many friends in the Yacht Industry that encouraged her to dive into the industry knowing she would be an amazing fit! A standard amount for a gratuity in the charter industry is 15-20% of the charter fee at the discretion of the CHARTERER. This yacht has full air conditioning and overnight air conditioning is included in the charter rate and available for overnight use if the CHARTERER requests it.<br /> <br /> 6. It’s the ultimate spot to sit while underway, with the <strong>wind in your hair looking to your new horizons</strong>! </p><p> </p><p>We started outside, where all the toys were displayed—<em>Gullwing</em> has plenty to keep guests entertained. There are <strong>lots of floats</strong> you can hang off the stern, making it a great <strong>platform for swimming and lounging</strong>. It’s the kind of setup where you could easily spend hours just enjoying the water. </p><p> </p><p>Inside, we walked into the aftermath of what must’ve been a spectacular lunch. Chef Anna was tidying up, but the air still smelled amazing. Our broker, <strong>John Boullin</strong>, had been lucky enough to join the meal earlier, and his words pretty much summed it up: <em>“Fantastic yacht, fantastic crew, the Turkish meze was insane, and the aircon was efficient.”</em> I came onboard on John’s recommendation—and let’s just say he wasn’t wrong. </p><p> </p><p>Even though lunch was over, there was still <strong>an incredible spread of baked goods </strong>left out. White chocolate cream blondies, double chocolate brownies, blueberry streusel muffins, sourdough focaccia, and dillisk seaweed bread rolls—it was all there, and it looked almost too good to eat. Anna told me that the yacht’s owner has a serious sweet tooth and insists on <strong>serving two desserts every day</strong>. “He loves cake,” she said with a laugh. And apparently, he insists that guests of Gullwing get served <strong>dessert twice per day</strong>. </p><p> </p><p>After my dessert detour, we toured the cabins. <em>Gullwing</em> has<strong> 4 equally sized VIP cabins</strong>, which makes her perfect for groups of friends sharing the cost. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and clearly cared for down to the smallest details. Even the <strong>little gifts left on the beds for guests</strong> to take home were such a thoughtful touch—it’s those small things that really make a difference. </p><p> </p><p><em>Gullwing</em> is one of those yachts that feels like it was <strong>designed for good times</strong>. From the open deck spaces to the incredible food and the welcoming crew, <strong>she delivers on every level</strong>. Whether you’re here for the water toys, the desserts, or just the sheer relaxation, this yacht is all about making sure you have a great time. She always would have little surprises for us when we came back such as surprise brownies, hidden snacks or orange bundt cake. He began working in the sailing industry at the young age of 16 as an instructor. Each year working his way up the ranks gaining the skills to eventually start teaching learn-to-sail holidays in Greece. He then moved on to be a charter skipper while studying for his degree in Computing. At the time, sailing was a fun summer job. He never thought of it as a full time career until Anna joined him in Croatia.<br /> <br /> The dream of working in the Caribbean formed quickly between them but they decided to finish their studies and gain experience in respective fields before taking the plunge. Will took a job as a Graphic Designer for a PR company in London which really taught him what kind of life he wanted to live. He appreciates living on the water everyday and knows how lucky he is to do so! He loves delivering holidays of a lifetime to guests, with many of them becoming lifetime friends.<br /> <br /> Anna grew up in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating University she went into education and became a teacher for children with special educational needs. However, her love for cooking kept growing, when Will began working in the charter industry she jumped at the opportunity to go with him and become a chef on board.<br /> <br /> Anna always dreamed of attending the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School to expand ger culinary skills, which finally became a reality in 2021. The intensive 12 week course taught so many new skills and gave her invaluable experience. Anna plans on studying cooking further this summer in the Ashburton Yacht Chef course. She loves learning new techniques that she can bring into the galley. Her biggest passion is creating food that brings joy to guests and makes their holiday that little bit more special.<br /> <br /> Natia was born in Maui, HI and did all her schooling in California. In 2019 she attended the California College of Ayurveda and earned her certificate. Her love for the ocean and nature grew in the heart and magic of the island of Maui as well as her experience in hospitality. Her career has been mainly rooted in the service industry and her experience is a wide range of categories such as catering, bartending special occasions, opening new restaurants, managing and being lead server. <br /> She likes to call herself a jack of all trades as her resume further consists of jobs in housekeeping, office management, spa management, birth work and holistic health. She has many friends in the Yacht Industry that encouraged her to dive into the industry knowing she would be an amazing fit! I went into the week thinking the food would be bagels or sandwiches. Instead, we received beautiful plates of fruits, homemade desserts and absolutely incredible meals. I’m really not sure how I am supposed to adjust back to my life WITHOUT Anna. She always would have little surprises for us when we came back such as surprise brownies, hidden snacks or orange bundt cake. In addition to being an amazing hostess/chef, she’s an absolutely lovely person. She’s such a joy to chat with about anything. She has such a bright, effervescent personality that makes her the best hostess on TYW. If I come back to YW, I will absolutely request Anna/Will. They’re an amazing combo but Anna is just in a league of her own when it comes to being a hostess. Some highlights: Eggs Benedict, Homemade Brownies, Anna slapping the bag and forgetting to swallow the wine that came with it. Any crew that gets Anna from this week on is so lucky.
