SALTY DOG is a 2023 Leopard 50 that quietly hacks two big problems: space and noise. You get the wide, stable footprint of a modern power-cat style platform, but under sail, with a lithium battery bank that runs the air-conditioning at night without generator noise. Translation: cool cabins, no diesel lullaby.
Eight guests, four real cabins, zero compromise. SALTY DOG sleeps 8 in four equal queen cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms and stall showers – no “kids cabin” penalty box. A full-beam salon opens both forward and aft, so you move through the boat instead of around it, and the flybridge adds a second outdoor living level with 360° views, lounge space and sun awning.
Water toys are not theoretical. Expect a proper 12 ft tender with 40hp, towable tube, 2 paddleboards, double kayak, floating mats, beach games, noodles, fishing gear and sea scooters for snorkel missions. If you want scuba, the crew plugs you straight into rendezvous diving ops and builds it into your week.
The “reason to book” is the crew and the galley, not the hull color. Captain Nick runs relaxed, activity-focused charters, and chef Luka shows up with a Cordon Bleu culinary background and restaurant-level menus – from seared sea bass and African chicken curry to lobster risotto, smashburgers and serious desserts. Special diets are handled without drama.
Net result: modern 50ft cat, very recent build, sleeps 8 adults properly, runs quiet and cool at night, stacked with toys, and operated by a small, professional two-person crew who treat food and fun as core systems, not extras.

Everything about the yacht was ideal...from the comfortable and well appointed bedrooms to the private, shaded areas to stretch out and relax.
How would you describe your crew? Were they courteous? Helpful? Friendly? Attentive? Knowledgeable? Accompanied you on your activities/land excursions? Wore uniforms and acted professionally?
The crew on the salty dog treated us like royalty! They were always there to offer help when needed while giving us privacy to enjoy our fellow guests, would not change one thing about our experience with them!
Was the food great and well presented? Did the menus meet your expectations? Did your crew pay attention to your preference sheets?
We cannot stop raving about the meals from our charter! From the presentation to the deliciousness...100% hit it out of the park!

Holy Camole!
Holy Camole! What an incredible week of sun, fun and shenanigans. Our group has dreamed about travelling island to island for years and finally had the time to commit this year. the Salty Dog was a "perfect" home for our group. The first night with a perfect sunset in Waterlemon Cay set the tone with breathtaking views, snorkelling and cuisine.

This Crew Made All the Difference!
Best trip ever! Second time sailing in the VI's but this crew made all the difference! Captain Jenine was accommodating on the sailing route but we let her take the lead and were not disappointed. From the snorkeling, floating, water scooters, hiking lunch at the floating boats (Pizza Pi and lime out) shopping in Cruz Bay, sunset at the Windmill Bar, and the little casino we discovered.there was plenty to do but a lot of relaxing and games with kids.
Every meal Chef Luka made us was AMAZING... can't even pick a favorite.
the "Signature cocktails by Jenine" every day were delicious! I think we all agreed that the Lime in the Coconut was #1.

"This is Amazing" Over and Over!
St. Thomas around the Virgin Gorda and back.
This was our first experience in the BVI's and our first sailing trip as a family.
From the moment we stepped on the boat it felt like a 5-star resort with incredible scenery, once in a lifetime memories, thoughtful attention and meals that made us say "This is Amazing!" over and over again. We visited so many places along our sail and had a new and fun experience at every stop.
The mornings were almost surreal with warm sunshine, perfectly neat quarters and hot coffee ready to greet us every morning. We absolutely loved getting to know our crew and Captain jenine made us feel so taken care of with her knowledge of the waterways and boat mechanics. We loved hearing about the various places we sailed through and she showed us all the perfect stops and made our trip feel 100% catered to our family. We could not be more thrilled with everything she recommended.
to make things even more insane, our private on-board chef Ludeke "Luka" created a daily menu that was out of this world. We loved every meal and "Drinks By jenine" allowed everyone to kick back and enjoy the stunning sunsets with ease.
We will tell everyone we know that this was THE BEST VACATION EVER. So thankful for the Salty Dog crew and Boat :)

What an amazing week. Where you book a charter you do your best to make it a great vacation i.e. location, boat, agenda, travel but at the end of the day it comes down to the crew.
hands down Gordon and jenine are the best in the business. patient, kind, attentive with ....... it is the little things that also impact the trip, teaching a son to tie a knot or stepping aboard to amazing turkey paninis or teaching "Mexican Train".
Gordon and Jenine are also so knowledgeable of the business and able to "read the room" or guests needs. Early dinner ..... no worries. Dingying to shore for coffee ...let's go. Quick snorkel at the best rock....I know the place.

Surprise Honeymoon
We had a wonderful experience with Gordon and Jenine. This trip was a surprise honeymoon for my husband and I, from his best man.
We started in St. Thomas and made our way to Caneel Bay where we jumped in the ocean and ate a lovely dinner at Zozo's.
The next day we left St. John and headed to Tortola for customs and on to Norman Island. We snorkeled the Indians, jumped off Willy T's and spent the night.
Before sailing to Coopers, we got to explore The Caves and the next stop was The Baths (one of my favorites)
This has been one of the best trips of our lives and we're so grateful to be with such a great group!

Never Stay At A Resort Again!
What a FANTASTIC week in paradise! We covered a lot of ground and had so many favorites along the way. The kids especially enjoyed snorkeling, tubing with Gordon. The Pirate Show conch blowing contest and the fun limbo, dance night at Potter By The Sea in Anegada.
It is hard for 15 and 14 year olds to be impressed and I am certain they had a great time!
Personal favs of the week for me were the beautiful beaches, snorkeling and finding live conch shells and the green helmet shell I found (only took pics ;), the stunning sunsets, Jenine's UNBELIEVABLE food all week and Gordon's cocktails - his painkiller was the best we had all week - sorry Soggy Dollar!
George enjoyed the abundance of activities available and asking lots of questions (Ha!Ha!)

We Love The BVI's
What an amazing spring break trip. Out two families could not have asked for a better week. We started in St. Thomas and made our way around the BVI's. Thank you Captain Gordon and Chef Jenine fo an amazing experience. The food was incredible and everything was planned out perfectly.
We hope to be back sooner than later. We love the BVI's - the beautiful scenery, the hospitality and the fun!

A Balance of Relaxation and Adventure
We could not have asked for 2 better weeks aboard the beautiful Salty Dog! From perfect weather to the smooth sailing and unbelievable food. I wouldn't change a thing, well, maybe I'd add on a couple of nights but that's it!!
I've waited nearly 25 years since my last trip and it was a dream to sail the BVI's again...with my family! Gordon and Jenine, you delivered a perfect trip, a balance of relaxation and adventure. Our girls will never forget it.

Blew Away Our Expectations
My family plus 2 friends just spent a week in the BVI on Salty Dog. We were all looking forward to the week but the week itself blew away our expectations.
This was by far our best vacation ever!
It's almost impossible not to have a beautiful vacation int he VI, but the siling experience made our vacation exponentially better.....this is largely in part because of the hard work and hospitality of Gordon and Jenine. It is a huge responsibility to care for 7 people.
Gordon and Jenine know all the best stops for us to visit. They were great with our kids (22,19,18,14,13)
All of their recommendations were excellent. Their polite and easy personalities made out trip so much more enjoyable. The food was excellent - I was shocked at everything my picky youngest ate.
Each table escape was elegant and charming.
We would hands-down recommend Salty Dog and in particular it's crew to any one!

Will Never Regret It!!
We could not have had a better week aboard the Salty Dog! We made memories that will last a lifetime.
Gordon and Jenine made our family, spanning ages 6-64 feel extremely comfortable and pampered all week. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the boat was amazing, the sights/excursions were amazing, and the company we shared was amazing.
Gordon and Jenine quickly became extended family members which made saying goodbye more difficult. If you are on the fence about booking this trip, don't be! You will not regret it!

Knocked It Out Of The Park
Thank you Gordon and Jenine for a perfect Virgin Islands getaway.
Besides arranging for perfect weather so that we could experience 100 degree F increase in temperature upon arrival in STT, you knocked it out of the park with kind hospitality, conversations, spectacular meals and yummy cocktails.
We were all craving a week of sun, aqua water, beautiful coral and fish, yum food, relaxation and new adventures. We got it all and can't thank you enough.

Gordon and Jenine are fantastic hosts. We were blessed with beautiful weather, the sun, kind service of our hosts. We are spoiled and it will be hard to find any restaurant to compare with the food (and food presentation) we were fed - this in every meal.

So Impressive!
From the start to the finish this trip was truly AMAZING. Getting to see so many new and beautiful places. I can't really pick which one was my favorite. The crew was so impressive. Just want to thank them for their willingness to help us with whatever we needed.

We had a lovely 4 night trip up the Drake Channel from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda. Captain Gordon and Chef Jenine were amazing!!
We hit all our favorite snorkel spots along the way - Caneel Bay, Waterlemon Cay, The Indians, Peter, Great Dog and Eustacia, and we even got to play with the water toys. We loved the underwater scooter. Thank you Captain Gordon and Jenine for the suggestion!!!!

Trip of a Lifetime for sure. We were so blessed to have the opportunity to spend 7 nights aboard Salty Dog! Jenine and Gordon were great and by the end of the week we felt like we were all on vacation together. The meals were phenomenal and the hospitality was endless. We definitely will cross paths again and hope to be back on the Salty Dog real soon!! Thanks for being amazing!

Will Never Forget Our Trip.
As we near the end of our one week journey, it's difficult to say what we've enjoyed most. I suppose for us we will miss the friends we've made first. Gordon and Jenine have done a fantastic job of welcoming us and providing outstanding service as captain and chef/first mate. Our food has been incredible and we've been spoiled by the quality, care and presentation for each meal.
I could have never imagined a vacation like this was even an option. The islands and sea are beautiful and every day was different and offered a new adventure. We were able to relax or enjoy as much activity as we wanted.
On our final night our farewell party was filled with laughter by people who loved and cared for each other. We will never forget our trip on Salty Dog :)

Salty Dog Was Amazing!
Wow!! From start to finish our trip on the Salty Dog was amazing. Our trip with guests spanning 3 generations had something for everyone - one favorite was seeing turtles in Maho Bay and everyone enjoyed snorkeling with the colorful fish. Waterlemon, Salt Pond and Lameshur were beautiful and secluded and the hikes had great views!
A true highlight was meeting our Captain , Gordon, and chef, Jenine! We so appreciated their companionship and conversation as well as guidance, kindness and humour.

Gordon and Jenine made our very first boating/sailing experience beyond anything we could have ever imagined.
So gracious, friendly, accommodating. So patient with our learning to snorkel and with our few physical limitations. Always suggesting alternatives so that we would enjoy the full experience of the week.
Fabulous food, great conversation, lovely table settings and each meal was a particularly pleasant and delightful touch. Blessed to have shared all this with our daughter-in-law and grandchildren. memories for a lifetime. Fun wonderful times.
