TWIN FLAME Yacht Description

Twin Flame is a beautiful 2014 Lagoon 62. She sleeps 8 guests in 4 cabins. Master cabin suite includes seating/lounge area and desk, queen size berth, large glass shower stall and separate vanity area and offers direct access to aft deck for slipping out to gaze at the stars and take a midnight dip off the stern. The master suite also has direct private access to the main salon. The other 3 spacious guest cabins each offer a queen size berth, stall shower, electric toilet and vanity. All cabins have individual a/c controls for guests comfort. CREW has separate cabin with bath, and if cliet desires use of the twin bunk cabin, the crew will use one of the queen cabins for the charter.

Top flybridge lounge is extremely spacious and offers a 360 degree view and amazing breeze.

Aft deck offering alfresco dining and lounging area and the main salon offers lounging area plus formal dining.

Advertised by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht TWIN FLAME is a 62 ft sailing catamaran. TWIN FLAME spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was completed by the ship builder Lagoon in 2014. The expansive yacht layout features 4 large cabins and easily accommodates up to 8 guests.

TWIN FLAME is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is generous, with a prominent dining and seating area and that's where the guests spend most of their time. The modern cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

The sailboat features 2X150HP Volvo diesels 17.5Kw generator plus 16Kw backup genset new 2017 engines and a generator.

MEET THE CREW - 2022/23 SEASON
Captain: Chris Klopper
Chef: Lida Fourie
Steward/Deckhand: JD Veldsman

Chris grew up in a seaside town in the Western Cape of South Africa. A career on the water seemed a natural step for Chris whose first role in yachting was with a sailing academy. After completing his captain’s qualification, he conducted deliveries and worked as a bosun before joining the charter industry with his long-term partner Lida. Chris is an all-round water sports enthusiast who enjoys surfing, kite surfing and wakeboarding. He is also an experienced Dive Master who loves to spend time leading guests on tours of the underwater world.

Lida grew up in the same town as Chris and primarily worked in hospitality as a waitress, bar manager and chef before she joined him in yachting. Professionally trained in fine dining catering by the Ashburton School in the UK, Lida is an experienced chef who strives to meet her guests’ wide range culinary preferences. She enjoys sourcing quality locally grown ingredients to produce creative, great tasting, beautifully presented, well-balanced meals. Whatever style of food she is asked to prepare, Lida is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure memorable meals for all.

JD has know Chris and Lida for many years having grown up in the same seaside town. He was immersed in a life filled with fishing, kite surfing, diving, and all kinds of water sports. This upbringing fostered a deep passion and understanding of the ocean, leading him to become a professional kite surfing instructor amongst many other outdoor achievements.
His career took him into the world of hospitality operations, where he spent the past 10 years perfecting skills in hospitality operations and the culinary industry however when he a precious moment not working, you'd find him out on the trails hiking, camping under the stars, or taking on new DIY projects as a handyman. With a fun-loving spirit and a zest for life, JD is always ready for new challenges and new experiences, bringing enthusiasm and positivity to everything he does.

Chris and Lida have worked together on luxury charter yachts for the past four years in some of the most amazing destinations in the world which include the Maldives, many Caribbean islands and more recently the USVI and BVI and this year JD has chosen to join their team enhancing their amazing, fun-filled charter offering on Huntress.

They love working together as a team, easily anticipating each other’s needs, and sharing a desire to take the best possible care of guests to ensure their vacation exceeds all expectations.

Caribbean shakshuka: Caribbean seasoned tomato stew, eggs, fried plantains, fresh avocado and cilantro, served on cast iron skillets.


Stuffed french toast: Brie and guava stuffed french toast, caramelized figs and fresh fruits.


 Avocado toast: Smashed avocado over grilled pan seared sourdough bread, your choice of eggs and a side of arugula, corn and feta salad.


Fluffy banana pancakes: Served with glazed pineapples, passion fruit coulis and a coconut salted caramel drizzle.


Island Benny: Braised pork shoulder over English muffins, cayenne hollandaise and roasted pepper salsa.


Potato and oaxaca cheese galette: served with pulled jerk chicken, sunny side eggs and julienne spring onions.


 Plantain fritatta: served with a fresh herloom tomato and basil salad.


Continental: scrambled eggs, fresh fruit platters, yoghurt, granola, bacon, hash browns, assorted breads, raspberry preserves, butter, served on a buffet style.

Shrimp ceviche with fresh mango and passion fruit leche de tigre.


Pineapple and shrimp fried rice, with fresh citrousy bell pepper, spring onion and cilantro salad.


Grilled lobster over corn puree, roasted seasonal vegetable salad and cilantro dressing. 4) Roast tri tip, pesto orzo, smoked goat cheese mousse and mixed greens and nuts salad.


 Caribbean seasoned slow roasted bbq ribs, baked rainbow potatoes and fresh garden salad.


Rock salt cooked chicken, mashed plantains, fresh chilean salad and plantain chips.


Pan seared Mahi, with creamy coconut quinoa, papaya ginger slaw and pineapple salsa.






 


APPETIZERS


Seared scallops served over a pea and chili puree, micro greens and cilantro chimichurri.


Mahi mahi tiradito with a sesame ponzu dressing, shaved carrots and ginger garnish.


Braised goat tostones with smoked goats cheese, pickled shallots and cilantro.


Charcuterie board: Selection of cheese and meat, house pickles, grainy mustard, sweet and salty nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit and mango cilantro chutney.


 Grilled bell peppers, stuffed with eggs and cheese served over watercress salad and lime dressing.


Street Tacos: pulled beef, deep fried pork belly and shrimp tacos. Served with pickled onions, cilantro, pineapple and avocado,


Bruschetta capresse: mix of roasted and fresh tomatoes, topped with fresh buffalo burrata, drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and fresh micro basil.


 Middle eastern board: Selection of hummus, babaganoush, seared halloumi, pita bread, lamb koftas, yogurt sauce and house pickles.

Caribbean curry style goat ossobuco, fungi and roasted baby root veggies.


Roast chicken, root veggies and pan seared juices over a pea and mint mash, and grilled asparagus.


 Beef tenderloin, red wine sauce, carrot puree and potato tarragon gratin.


Pan seared catch of the day, celeriac puree, grilled bok choy and confit cherry tomatoes.


 Mushroom and truffle risotto, with goat cheese, toasted walnuts and arugula.


 Cilantro and garlic marinated pork sirloin, sweet potato puree, corn on the cob and chimichurri.


 Olive oil poached hake with truffle and pinto bean puree, black garlic aioli, fennel and pickled shallots.


EXTRA OPTION Lobster bisque: Butter poached lobster, snow peas and coconut foam.

A career on the water seemed a natural step for Chris whose first role in yachting was with a sailing academy. After completing his captain’s qualification, he conducted deliveries and worked as a bosun before joining the charter industry with his long-term partner Lida. Chris is an all-round water sports enthusiast who enjoys surfing, kite surfing and wakeboarding. He is also an experienced Dive Master who loves to spend time leading guests on tours of the underwater world.<br /> <br /> Lida grew up in the same town as Chris and primarily worked in hospitality as a waitress, bar manager and chef before she joined him in yachting. Professionally trained in fine dining catering by the Ashburton School in the UK, Lida is an experienced chef who strives to meet her guests’ wide range culinary preferences. She enjoys sourcing quality locally grown ingredients to produce creative, great tasting, beautifully presented, well-balanced meals. Whatever style of food she is asked to prepare, Lida is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure memorable meals for all. <br /> <br /> JD has know Chris and Lida for many years having grown up in the same seaside town. He was immersed in a life filled with fishing, kite surfing, diving, and all kinds of water sports. A career on the water seemed a natural step for Chris whose first role in yachting was with a sailing academy. After completing his captain’s qualification, he conducted deliveries and worked as a bosun before joining the charter industry with his long-term partner Lida. Chris is an all-round water sports enthusiast who enjoys surfing, kite surfing and wakeboarding. He is also an experienced Dive Master who loves to spend time leading guests on tours of the underwater world.<br /> <br /> Lida grew up in the same town as Chris and primarily worked in hospitality as a waitress, bar manager and chef before she joined him in yachting. Professionally trained in fine dining catering by the Ashburton School in the UK, Lida is an experienced chef who strives to meet her guests’ wide range culinary preferences. She enjoys sourcing quality locally grown ingredients to produce creative, great tasting, beautifully presented, well-balanced meals. Whatever style of food she is asked to prepare, Lida is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure memorable meals for all. <br /> <br /> JD has know Chris and Lida for many years having grown up in the same seaside town. He was immersed in a life filled with fishing, kite surfing, diving, and all kinds of water sports. We arrived by dingy to rum punches on the stern, served with a smile by Lida. Our luggage was immediately whisked away. Captain Chris took us all on a tour of the boat. The boat has a sleek and modern vibe that makes it feel like a floating, spa oasis. We slept in a queen cabin and it was the most comfortable charter bed I’ve ever slept on. The bathrooms are enormous and there is plenty of storage for a weeks worth of clothes and necessities. <br /> <br /> Lida served up a gourmet breakfast every morning and incredible dinners each evening. Most of our lunches were spent at beach restaurants on the different islands. We had some complicated food requests on this trip and Lida made sure that my husband had the correct food for each meal and made them delicious.<br /> <br /> Chris and Lida are expert sailors, hosts and staff (staff wrong word?). They made the vacation by offering suggestions as to locations to stop and explore and providing us with the space we needed to relax when under sail. The boat itself has many areas to spread out and read, sunbathe, or even work ( if you have to!). <br /> <br /> The highlight for the parents and the kids were the “toys” on board. Each day we would find a place to snorkel, Sea Scooter, paddle board and dingy. His love for sailing began through exposure to boating and sailing with his family, particularly in the Virgin Islands. He has thousands of logged miles and has captained charters in the USVI and BVI for the past 4 years.<br /> <br /> Keagan has led an adventurous lifestyle during his 25 years, beginning with his early years in South Africa and life on a game farm riding ATV’s, camping, hunting and skeet shooting. His family relocated to the USA where he continued his outdoor adventures water skiing, wake-boarding and boating at their lake house in Virginia as well as snow skiing, snowboarding and dirt bike riding. He has also bungee jumped the 3rd highest bungee in the world at 216m, has been shark cage diving and sky-diving. He too is scuba certified. <br /> <br /> Keagan took a gap year after high school and back-packed through Fiji, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Panama and Cost Rica before attending Colorado University where he earned his degree in marketing and in addition, an entrepreneurial certificate.<br /> <br /> Keagan is a ‘people person’, hence enjoys meeting new people and building close relationships with others. His peers describe him as an outgoing, enthusiastic person with a positive attitude and terrific communication skills. <br /> <br /> Olivia is a natural people-person with a talent for making you feel as though you’ve known her forever – fun loving, vivacious and energetic – she will be sure to create a warm stay that will be enjoyable and carefree for each of her guests. <br /> <br /> Warm weather and a passion for the sea brought her from Northern Virginia to The University of Tampa, Florida, where she thoroughly enjoyed being closer to the sea. She has always been an avid traveler and found a love for the Virgin Islands after visiting many times with her family during her childhood.<br /> <br /> Olivia's cooking experience has come from helping and working in her home kitchen with family and friends. Her family are wonderfully sociable and so she has grown up in a home with great hosts as her role models.
