Yacht Description
Easy living for eight. ABBY NORMAL TO is a 2019 Robertson & Caine sailing catamaran, refit in 2023, set up to sleep 8 guests in 4 double, en-suite cabins. A clean, modern platform for a group that wants comfort without turning the trip into a logistics project.
Water time, simplified. A stern swim platform and boarding ladder make getting in and out of the sea painless, and there’s an outdoor shower for the quick rinse. Then it is straight back to shade and snacks. Repeat as required.
Toys that get used. You have paddleboards, 2-person kayaks, a kneeboard, towable tube, and adult water skis, plus a 12ft hangout water hammock, floating chairs, noodles, and a floating mat for low-effort lounging. Two sea scooters are available upon request.
Comfort when you want it. Full air conditioning covers the downtime hours, while the flybridge sun-shade helps keep the top deck usable through the day. Underwater lights add a nice after-dark swim vibe, and the saloon TV and indoor audio system handle movie-and-music nights.

Charter Reviews
The boat was immaculate, and Dayne and Shannon were great. They made sure we got to all of the sights we wanted to see as well as serving excellent food and drinks. Could not have been any better.
Can’t wait to go back.
It was an amazing time. Shannon and Dayne exceeded all of our expectations. They listened to all of the little things 4 different people had heard about and we did them all.
Shannon kept us well fed. The food was excellent and again all 4 palates had specific requirements that were always met.
Dayne is an amazing captain and had good recommendations / suggestions / contacts wherever we went.
Boat was very comfortable and well set up. We sailed whenever there was wind (a day and a half of unusually calm days for this time of the year) .
Would have liked more time but I guess that’s not their fault😉
They made every moment special. From the fantastic meals and drinks from Shannon to the stories and expert sailing experiences we received from Richard we could not have dreamed of a better voyage.
One of my friends was very reluctant about being on a boat that long overnight and was worried about sea sickness. Those worries were truly laid to rest as she told me just that she would love to go back and experience it again if it could be as awesome as it was with Shannon and Richard.
From out day at Anacada's beaches and bars, to diving for conch, to the full moon party, every day was a big adventure. We look forward to doing it again.
We just returned from our trip sailing with Richard and Shannon on Abby Normal 2. Your recommendation was right on. we had a great time and the Halletts are really nice people and fun to be with. Shannon is a wonderful cook and Rich is very accommodating.
Richard and Shannon,
Ya'll the best! We dreamed of this adventure for many months and you did not disappoint. We felt like family from the moment we stepped on board. We hope to repeat this as soon as possible. The food was to die for. You both make an amazing team.

5/5 for Captain, Crew, Food & Drink, Itinerary, Activities
Richard was a wonderful and enthusiast captain! He was always excited to show us something new and is suited best for guests that love snorkeling and adventure! Shannon was equally amazing!
The boat was awesome. Our favorite boat yet. The only glitch was the AC broke the last night of out trip but Richard was on it immediately and offered us dinner off the ship (on them) while the repairs were being made.
Had an amazing week on Abby Normal To! Rich and Shan are a dynamic duo. Shan [is] a gifted chef who tailor made an amazing food lineup for the week based on our food preferences. Every meal was a hit! Cap knew all the best swimming, fishing and snorkeling spots. Every day was an adventure! Trip of a lifetime.

Brilliant journey with Captain Richard and Captain Shannon on the beautiful and spacious Abby Normal To. Sailed from Tortola to Anegada; we laughed and cried, sang and danced, ate delicious meals on board and off, made new friends on board and off, found new music and a new direction in life. This journey was life changing and healing.
Thank you Captains. Peace, Love, and Respect, Double D.
Shannon is a very creative and accommodating chef. Each meal was presented exquisitely and exceeded our expectations! Richard is an accomplished captain who knows all the BVI islands and all the places we wanted to see. He shared many entertaining stories with us throughout the week. For those of us interested in learning how to sail or even sharpening our sailing knowledge, the captain was always willing to share the helm!
There were always ice-cold drinks in the cooler, a well-stocked bar, snacks and games to play! Our only regret was how quickly the week went by! One of our party members swears he lost a day (Thursday?) somewhere along the way!
This trip is a must add to your bucket list. And we can’t think of a better way to check it off the list than with Richard, Shannon and Abby Normal To!
We had so much fun. Richard made sure each day was filled with adventure. He is friendly and knowledgeable about the BVI’s. We felt like we truly experienced the area and that we were cared for by the crew. Thank you both for an unforgettable week!
Beverages of choice were a plenty and excursion suggestions were on point. Really enjoyed spending an evening at Saba Rock with them! Well done! :)
The beautiful vistas surrounding our vessel each day were varied & dramatic. We experienced a few rain showers, each lasting only minutes & mandated calling “all-hands-on-deck” for rainbow watch. We were frequently rewarded. I personally most remember the colors of sunrise and sets, cloud formations and the infinite hues of the waters as we sailed.
Three, five-star meals + snacks were crafted by Shannon, then presented by Richard each day. Chicken, salmon, shrimp, calamari, duck, etc. as well magnificent salads, homemade & fresh-baked, crusty sour dough breads plus delicious desserts flowed from the galley; the products of Shannon’s skillful hands. Repeatedly, our crew raved over the cuisine, finally exhausting our superlative vocabulary, leaving us with just “WOW”.
We are now planning our next R&S Sailing Adventure!
Date of experience: October 2022
Thank you for a wonderful trip. We were welcomed with balloons & birthday cake to celebrate a few milestone birthdays. We'll take many memories home with us from this trip.... the rainstorm on Anegada and our epic trip on the mokes back to the ship, the rave/techno dance off with Richard, the inspirations and Shannon's amazing cooking. & start of her cookbook we hope she titles "160 charters" and what we hope to see a new tradition starting of Abby Normal To white clothes parties of Foxys!
Thank you! Rahme, Jackie, GreAnn etvc.s
Richard was a competent sailor who was very flexible about our itinerary and was willing to teach and share duties at the helm. At one point when we were anchored at Anegada we rented a small Hobie cat and Richard volunteered to give each of the two boys individual sailing lessons. Richard also helped us find a local fishing guide for a half day excursion to Horseshoe reef. The boys had a great time catching bar jacks, grouper, and barracuda. Just as we were leaving, my son hooked a very large fish. After a 15-minute fight on very light tackle he finally managed to land a 15 lb Mutton snapper
Shannon was an exceptional chef. Every meal was an event! beautiful presentation and fine dining flavor. In addition, she was willing to provide matching quality alternatives for my youngest grandson who did not eat meat. Because she knew the local vendors, she was able to obtain the freshest ingredients for each meal.
I can't finish this review without mentioning the boat. A 50 ft, 5 cabin catamaran. What a treat for an old sailor! New additions since my last charter 15 years ago included a desalinization system which allowed for freshwater flushing in the heads, state of the art navigation electronics, power winches which allow single handed sailing from the helm, an elevator for launching the dingy, and great performance under sail. We averaged 10.5 knots on a reach from Virgin Gorda
to Anegada with a 17-knot wind. In addition, I would like to note that the boat was designed to be friendly to us seniors who may have a bit of a problem with balance. There was no place that I could go on the boat where there was not a secure hand hold.
Shannon’s meals were outstanding-when you can wow seven adults for seven days in a row- you are one talented chef.
They took part with us in many activities, from snorkelling tours, videoing, story telling, just great hosts!
I have been in the travel industry for many years and have seen and visited many destinations. As a senior travel consultant I can guarantee you that this is a trip of a lifetime and Richard and Shannon made the difference!
