This 7-day USVI to BVI itinerary is perfect for charter guests who want a seamless boarding experience in the US Virgin Islands and a full tour of the British Virgin Islands without the hassle of ferries or transfers. We recommend starting from Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, which offers direct step-aboard access for crewed catamarans and motor yachts licensed to operate in both USVI and BVI waters. We can help you find a yacht with the necessary clearances for this one-way or round-trip itinerary.
DAY 1: Day 1: Yacht Haven Grande to Trunk Bay
You’ll board your yacht at Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas – the main yachting hub in the USVI, and where most superyachts are based. If you want a step-on-and-sail experience, this is the best way to begin your charter. We recommend flying into Cyril E. King Airport (STT) and taking a short taxi to the marina (10 mins).
After boarding and a short cruise, your first anchorage is Trunk Bay on St. John – consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world. Powdery white sand, turquoise water, and a shallow reef make it perfect for a first swim and sunset dip.
- 🛥️ Board your yacht at Yacht Haven Grande, St. Thomas
- 🌴 Drop anchor at Trunk Bay — a world-renowned beach on St. John
- 🌅 Sunset cocktails on deck in one of the USVI’s most scenic bays
Day 2: Trunk Bay to Maho Bay & Norman Island
Cruise along the north coast of St. John to Maho Bay – a calm, shallow bay known for easy turtle spotting. It’s one of the best places in the Virgin Islands to paddleboard or snorkel straight off the yacht.
After lunch, clear customs and cross into the BVI. Norman Island is your next stop – a legendary pirate hideout said to have inspired Treasure Island. You’ll anchor in The Bight and dinghy over to the Willy T, the BVI’s infamous floating bar, for a drink at sunset.
- 🐢 Morning paddle or snorkel with turtles at Maho Bay, St. John
- 🍹 Evening drinks at Willy T, the BVI’s legendary floating bar
- ⚓ Overnight anchorage in The Bight, Norman Island
Day 3: Norman Island to The Indians, Peter Island & Cooper Island
Kick off the morning with a snorkel at The Indians – a set of rocky pinnacles rising from the sea just off Pelican Island, known as one of the BVI’s top snorkeling sites.
Cruise to Peter Island for lunch or a beach stop, then head to Cooper Island for the night. Cooper Island Beach Club is a guest favorite for its boutique vibe, the Caribbean’s best stocked rum bar, and incredible sunset views.

Day 4: Cooper Island to Virgin Gorda – The Baths
On day 4, you will cruise to Virgin Gorda. Anchor just off The Baths and spend the morning playing with water toys or relaxing on deck. After lunch onboard, your crew will tender you to the Baths – swim ashore and explore the volcanic boulders, caves, and tidal pools. It’s one of the most iconic experiences in the BVI, great for families and first-time visitors.
In the evening, head to CocoMaya for dinner and drinks on the beach. It’s our top sunset spot – upscale food, fire pits, and a fun vibe right on the sand.

Day 5: Virgin Gorda to North Sound
Cruise into North Sound, one of the BVI’s top yachting playgrounds. This area is perfect for a mix of action and downtime – spend the morning with water toys; it is a top kitesurfing area – or head ashore for a massage at Leverick Bay.
Saba Rock is great for cocktails and tarpon feeding, while Bitter End Yacht Club offers a livelier dock-and-dine scene. If you’re after something quieter and more scenic, we recommend anchoring off Eustatia Island – one of the prettiest backdrops in the Virgin Islands.
- 🏄♂️ Play with water toys in the calm North Sound

- 💆♀️ Spa treatments or beach time at Leverick Bay
- 🏝️ Anchor off Eustatia for the best views in the BVI
Day 6: North Sound to Guana Island – Monkey Point
From Virgin Gorda, you’ll cruise west toward Guana Island – one of the BVI’s most untouched natural reserves. The snorkeling at Monkey Point is some of the best in the region, with calm waters and a rocky coastline that draws turtles, bait balls, and even the occasional spotted eagle ray.
Guana itself is a privately owned island with no developments – just seven beaches, wild trails, and one of the most diverse ecosystems in the Caribbean. It’s perfect for guests who want a slower pace after a few activity-heavy days.
- 🐢 Snorkel with turtles and rays at Monkey Point
- 🏝️ Enjoy the natural beauty of Guana Island’s protected coastline
- 🧘♀️ Quiet evening onboard — perfect for sundowners on the flybridge
Day 7: Guana Island to Jost Van Dyke – White Bay Beach Bars
Jost Van Dyke is the BVI’s party island, and White Bay is its crown jewel. Famous for the Soggy Dollar Bar and its legendary Painkiller cocktail, this is where barefoot beach bars meet crystal-clear swimming. You’ll anchor just off the beach and either swim or dinghy ashore.
White Bay gets busy in the afternoon – if you prefer something more relaxed, just walk down the beach a bit for a quieter, more local vibe. Nearby Great Harbour is home to Foxy’s, a long-running sailor hangout, if you’re up for a late-night drink.
- 🍹 Swim ashore to Soggy Dollar Bar for Painkillers in the sand
- 🦩 Optional beach bar crawl along White Bay
- 🌊 Escape the crowds by walking to the quieter eastern end of the bay
