Crew Information
Captain: Sean Kampfer
Captain - Sean Kampfer - American
Born and raised on Long Island NY, Captain Sean joined the boating scene at a young age. Beginning with his parent’s boats and restoring an old sailing boat of his own he eventually began running water taxis and mid-size passenger vessels to the city. Falling hard for yachting one summer after joining a busy charter yacht in New England he has not looked back. Sean is a hands-on captain who takes great pride in any vessel or program he runs. He is guest satisfaction oriented and aims to make your time aboard TAIL LIGHTS a fantastic and memorable one! Sean is a licensed pilot and in his spare time you might find him sailing, flying, paddle boarding, golfing, and spending plenty of time at the beach. Previous yachts: SEAFARER, JOPAJU, ENDEVOUR, SERENITY, FRISKY LADY
Chef - Thomas Day - American
Dave is a versatile chef with over 20 years of upscale culinary experience and a passion for bringing happiness to others through his culinary creations.
Chef Tom hails from Philadelphia, who at the early age of 15 got his start in the hospitality industry. Tom found his passion in the kitchen and studied Culinary and Baking at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. They honored Tom with an Outstanding Achievement Award and a Presidential Scholarship.
After years as an Executive Chef in some of Philly’s busiest top restaurants, he transitioned into yachting to share his delicious creations on a more personal level as a private chef.
Tom puts his heart and dedication into his food and thrives on that simple sigh, smile, or filled belly from our charter guests aboard TAIL LIGHTS.
Chief Stewardess – Becky Johnson - American
Becky was born and raised in Fargo, ND. Becky spent much of her early life training and competing as a successful USA Gymnastics and NCAA gymnast. Becky received her education in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University, and went on to use this education and experience to develop her own team of national champion gymnasts.
While in college, Becky took a summer job as a bartender, which sparked her love for all things hospitality. Becky has spent many years working in the hospitality industry, and was busy working in a luxury resort in Scottsdale, Arizona when she was introduced to the world of yachting. It took no time for her to realize this was her calling.
Becky looks forward to creating unforgettable memories for all the future guest of TAIL LIGHTS.
2nd Stewardess – Jade Leonard - American
Jade was born in New York, and moved with her family to Paris, and then settled in Montreal. In Montreal, Jade loved to swim at her community pool. That is where she discovered her passion for synchronized swimming, lifeguarding and the water.
In college, Jade enrolled in an Intro to Marine Biology course, where she had the opportunity to snorkel and study marine ecosystems in Belize. Jade worked hospitality for over 7 years, and was convinced that her skills would work well in yachting. She also likes to practice yoga and calligraphy, read, run, swim and plan events.
Jade is very excited to create amazing experiences for the TAIL LIGHTS guests.
1st Mate - Chris Grandmaison - American
Chris found his love for the ocean at an early age after taking frequent trips off the California coast on his father’s fishing boat. He grew up in San Diego enjoying boating, surfing, and diving.
After graduating from college, his thirst for travel and love for the ocean has led him to a career in yachting. Chris’s 15 years in the hospitality industry and 6 seasons working on yachts has prepared him to help create unforgettable experiences while aboard TAIL LIGHTS.
When not out on the water, Chris enjoys snowboarding, playing hockey, and photography.
Engineer - Garrett Ballew - American
Engineer - Shawn Wakefield
Shawn first fell in love with the ocean when he was very young. Growing up on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, he spent his time exploring the dunes and the underwater world at age 10.
Shawn’s love of the ocean led him to George Stone Technical Center becoming an Outboard Engine Technician in Pensacola, Florida, before moving to South Florida where he ran daily scuba charters as a Scuba Instructor leading dives and teaching students his passion for the sea.
After many years working in the hospitality industry and working on the water he obtained his 100ton Captains license and was presented with the opportunity to join TAIL LIGHTS. Shawn is sure to add an element of excitement to your journey aboard TAIL LIGHTS.

"We just arrived home and as you can imagine everyone was very sad to leave the boat. The boat was awesome and Capitan Sean and Crew were amazing. My kids are still posting the amazing meals Chef Tom cooked and all the adults are missing the fabulous drinks that were prepared by Suzy Q and Jess. Sean, Chris , Jess and Rob (aka Dallas) did a great Job getting all our adventures in even with the wind blowing. As I told them when we left the boat is great but the Crew really made the trip something special.
Thanks for your help in arranging and we will definitely contact you for our next trip on Tail Lights."

Hi Susan
The below message says it all.
Thank you and take care.
Neil Emmott
"Dear Neil,
From our whole family we can’t thank you enough! This was by far the best trip of our lives. We are beyond grateful to both of you for making this happen. Thank you, thank you.
The yacht and the crew were beyond our expectations and we all enjoyed every minute of it. And don’t get me started on the chef and all of our meals, an absolute 10+!
The only worry we have now is how will we ever top this? We need to plan the next one!
Thank you again,
Charterer

Hi Susan,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you with feedback from the "Charterer" They had a great few days aboard TAIL LIGHTS and really liked the crew, and had zero complaints or suggestions. I was discussing another charter with the client earlier this week and they would have taken TAIL LIGHTS again later this month if she wasn’t already booked and heading south. His wife also sent me the following message.
Thank you for checking in. We had an amazing time on the Tail Lights and the crew was so nice!
Warm Regards,
Charterer

From a personal perspective I found Captain Sean excellent to work with. He took control of everything, was extremely responsive and nothing was any problem - I had full confidence that he and the crew were going to deliver a great experience for the guests. I would not hesitate to put clients aboard TAIL LIGHTS in the future (and based on the bookings you have for the winter I guess plenty of others share that opinion!)
Thanks again,
Broker

“I spoke at length with “the charterer” last night after the charter on TAIL LIGHTS and as you already know he was very happy. He said the crew did a phenomenal job, the chef Chris was amazing, and the service was excellent. He said he knows the kids and adults kept the crew busy and they deserved the big gratuity. He particularly appreciated the wonderful video they made for them from the trip and that was a fabulous surprise. He said the yacht was perfect for them, and he will let me know when he wants to charter again.”

Antigua Yacht Charter Show 2019
Hi Susan,
Love the crew onboard! I’ve had multiple very successful charters with Captain Andy in the past and would trust him with any clients. He is a huge asset to Tail Lights.
The chef, Thomas Day did a great job. The portions sizes were perfect for the occasion and the flavors nice and light and fresh. Great that he came up to introduce himself, and also to hear Andy tell the story of him coming from restaurants and them being lifelong friends. I think this is a really solid team all-around for Tail Lights.
The yacht itself looks better than ever. Love the large windows and headroom in lower cabins.
The main deck forward media room seems like a bit of wasted space, but surely great for kids. Great tender! The flybridge seating area for lunch was a bit challenging for service when full, but never uncomfortable. The bench seat is quite far from the table, so maybe that’s something they can troubleshoot for a yard period. Again, not uncomfortable but could be an area for improvement.
I would have no hesitations to put Tail Lights forward to clients, and I hope to do so very soon!

Dear Susan,
Just wanted to give you a massive thank you for my lunch on TAIL LIGHTS. Chef Tom’s food was incredible, and it was great to get to know Captain Andy.
The yacht is really great and, in my opinion, doesn’t really have too many competitors in her range. I won’t hesitate to recommend her to my clients.
Thanks again and hopefully speak soon!
Many thanks,
