ALORA Yacht Description
*All photos are of a sister ship*
The Bali 4.8 design was new to the market in 2020 and provided a fresh approach to sailing. The design is revolutionary in how space is accessed, with deliberate attention to flow and open space. It succeeds in producing a scale that feels less like a boat, and more like an upscale floating condominium.
Bali catamarans are known and appreciated for their unparalleled success in blending luxury, space, and performance; producing a sailing experience that is unparalleled. This new design further capitalizes on that reputation with the advent of the “Bali garage door” that is the centerpiece of the yacht. It allows for the aft wall of the yacht to simply disappear, opening up the back of the yacht to an unobstructed view of paradise. This also affords indoor/outdoor dining options and gives the ever-present Caribbean breeze ample opportunity to make its way through the yacht with ease.
With her solid foredeck gone are the forward trampolines, replaced by a large relaxing lounge area complete with cushions for sunbathing. A full-sized door provides access directly from the lounge area into the salon, allowing free movement through the yacht. A walk up to the flybridge unveils a seating area perfect for cocktails and taking in sunsets. There is also another area for sunbathing on the flybridge where you can take in the sights of the islands from the highest vantage point on the yacht.
The Bali open space design is further complimented by the superior outfit of Alora. No detail has been left unnoticed from the fine linens, pillows and throws to the wine glasses, serving and flatware that make every day feel luxurious. She has been stocked full with every appliance and kitchen accessory to allow the chef to fully showcase the mastery of their art. And the water toys abound, allowing guests to fully experience all the Caribbean has to offer, both in and out of the water.
Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht ALORA is a 49 ft sailing catamaran. The main attractions of ALORA are her well-chosen interiors and experienced crew. ALORA spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was delivered by the well-known ship builder Bali Catamarans in 2024. The well-planned yacht layout features 3 large cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests.
ALORA is introduced primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is where heart of the yacht is and usually it is where you, as a charter guest, spend most of your time. The fascinating cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes add to the feeling of connection with the discovered environment.
The sailboat features T/A = No, 15% max CREW GRATUITY: CONTRACTS: CYBA contract. No MYBA contracts. SMOKING IS ONLY PERMITTED OFF OF THE SUGAR SCOOPS ON THE TRANSOM OF THE YACHT. Captain: Rorke Anderson
CAPTAIN
Rorke Anderson
Rorke grew up on a farm in a small town in South Africa, finding any excuse to go fishing on weekends or holidays with his family off the East coast. He began his sailing journey by joining a catamaran that sailed from South Africa to Zanzibar hopping from island to anchorage. He later joined a world wide explorer fishing vessel sailing from Seychelles to Brazil via the southern tip of Africa. He was thrilled to complete an Atlantic crossing and did not want to stop there, ticking off bucket list ideas that he only thought were in his wildest dreams. Visiting and exploring some of the most "off the grid" locations like Madagascar, Ascension Island and sailing down the Amazon River quickly created a thirst for adventure.
Following a short stint backpacking through Central America, he joined a large luxury Sports-fisher that cruised the coastlines of Costa Rica chasing billfish. The vessel was not afraid of range and didn't hesitate to explore distant and different waters across the Pacific Coast and Caribbean, passing through the Panama Canal up to Bermuda. Rorke was also heavily involved in extensive shipyard periods with the boats he worked on, specifically positioned in the engine room. Working with his hands is something he prides himself on and he loves all things engineering related.
Both Rorke & Paige love sharing their passion for the ocean with guests, showcasing the raw beauty of the picturesque islands and the many blues that the ocean has to offer. All just one trip away.

CHEF
Paige Raw
Paige grew up exploring the rapids of the Great Usutu River and scaling the mountains in the Kingdom of Eswatini. Paige would spend the early mornings exploring the wildlife that surrounded her home, and the orange tinged afternoons dancing through the tall savannah grass.
As her story matured, she decided to follow her love of adventure and culture and received her BSc of Psychology in the USA during which the satisfaction of following the intricacies of research grew in all areas in her life. It found her traveling with the Utah Council of Citizen Diplomacy to the One Young World Summit and inspired her to continue seeking out different cultures and common grounds.
Cooking together as a family was a common and humor-filled occasion, with Paige's Granddad, as the head chef of the their bustling family kitchen. To Paige, food has always been about sharing stories. Understanding the origins of each ingredient and the meaning of each dish to various cultures was the foundation of conversations around the dinner table. Paige always dreamed of being a natural in the kitchen, just like her Granddad. She hopes to continue his story.
After her studies and travels, this is where being a chef on the yachts presented itself. She is thrilled that she has been able to find an intersection between her love for the outdoors, food, and the precision of academics. After attending cooking courses in Cape Town and workshops around the world, Paige aims to tailor an experience for you that will allow you to tell your story for many years.
