BVI Catamaran Charters for 12 Guests

Chartering a catamaran in the BVI for 12 guests is possible, but options are limited. Most crewed catamarans top out at 10 guests, and only a select few are built to comfortably accommodate 12. These tend to be larger yachts with 6 guest cabins and book out early.

Some cabins include pullman beds — fold-out bunks located in twin or double cabins — technically allowing 3 guests per room. We only recommend this setup for kids, not adults, as comfort and privacy are compromised.

If you’re a group of six adult couples, we often suggest a tandem charter — two matching catamarans sailing together. You get full-size cabins, more space, and a much better overall experience.

Different layouts for 12 guests:

Six couples: We look for yachts with 6 double cabins, but be aware that some may have a smaller 5th or 6th cabin or include pullmans.

Multi-gen families: VIP or master cabins for grandparents; doubles, twins, or pullmans for kids.

Mixed group: Flexibility is key — convertibles or bunk setups can help with different sleeping needs.

With kids: Pullman beds or triple cabins, i.e., bunks work well, especially for younger guests.
