BVI Cruising Tax
The BVI cruising tax is a government fee that applies to all vessels operating in its waters. It is usually included in all-inclusive yacht charters and, therefore, only relevant for our clients who are opting for plus-expense yacht charters in the BVI.
This government-imposed tax applies to both crewed and bareboat charters and is charged based on the number of guests and operational status (BVI-based or foreign-based).
For those chartering a yacht into the BVI from the USVI, these fees will be settled upon clearing customs. BVI-based charter yachts typically include them in the charter agreement.
Below, we break down the exact costs so you know what to expect before booking your BVI yacht charter.
Classification | Rate | Fee |
---|---|---|
BVI-Based Charter Yachts | Per person, per day | US$4 |
Foreign-Based Charter Yachts | Per person, per day | US$16 |
BVI-Based, Annual Fee Option (new) | Per Year | US$5500 |
