Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a motor yacht like SOL SHINE, the expected APA is 25% to 40% of the charter price ($17,500 - $28,000), making the charter cost $87,500 to $98,000. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

Captain Robert grew up running 80’–110’ yachts off Fort Lauderdale, so when he threads Sol Shine through the Bahamas or New England, he’s not guessing—he’s showing you his own backyard. He moves fast, keeps the program easy, and lines up the kind of fishing, diving, and hidden-anchorages that turn a charter into a story worth retelling.
- Fort Lauderdale native with lifelong family background in yachting (parents in industry from 1970s–2000s).
- Began professional yachting career at 18 as deckhand on an 80’ sailing yacht, progressing through multiple yacht sizes to captain.
- Logged thousands of miles cruising the Bahamas, Caribbean, and New England.
- Leads a husband–and–wife bridge team with First Mate Sophie for tightly coordinated operations and guest care.
Shannon runs the interior like a quiet machine—sharp table setups, dialed-in cocktails, and service that lands before you know you need it. She brings a precise, engineer’s mind to easygoing hospitality, so the yacht feels relaxed on the surface and flawlessly organized underneath.
- Early boating experience cruising the Chesapeake Bay on a 42’ sportfishing yacht.
- Holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alabama.
- Professional background as server and bartender before transitioning into yachting.

Sophie owns the decks and toys with the same energy she grew up with on Florida water, keeping every launch, swim, and tender run fast, clean, and safe. She reads guests quickly, delivers tight detail work, and turns the boat’s hardware into a floating playground that still runs like a pro operation.
- Fourth-generation native Floridian, raised on the central east coast and on the water from an early age.
- Background in hospitality as server/bartender and manager of a parasail and watersports company starting at 18.
- Entered yachting in 2020 as stewardess on a 197’ superyacht, later advancing to deck/stew and then full-time first mate.
- Cruising experience includes the Bahamas, Florida Keys, U.S. east and west coasts, and Mexico.
