SHADES OF GREY Yacht Description
If you had to describe the Sunreef 80 SHADES OF GREY in one sentence, you would say that this Sunreef 80 impresses with its clean, elegant design and is truly no 'grey mouse'. Warm shades of grey, combined with a modern green, give the interior a fresh and very elegant look. You will immediately feel at home on board as there are no 'loud' design elements to obstruct the view and everything is simply harmonious.
The master cabin is located in the middle of the starboard side and has a king-size bed, a small sofa for relaxing, a dressing table and a walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom with shower is very spacious. Also to starboard is the double cabin (queen size bed) with a comfortable en suite bathroom.
On the port side, amidships, is the VIP cabin (queen-size bed), which is slightly larger than the double cabin and has a walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom is also slightly larger. Forward on the port side is the guest cabin with three comfortable single beds and an en-suite shower room. The beds are 80 x 200 cm and the bunk beds are staggered so that the upper bed is easy to reach.
The saloon is all about relaxing together, with two really big lounge sofas. In the centre is a black glass table that can be converted into a dining table for up to 10 people in bad weather.
The aft deck has a large dining table that can seat up to 10 people and a lounge sofa. There is also a lounge with a coffee table on the foredeck.
On the flybridge, the SHADES OF GREY has another large dining table, perfect for up to 10 guests, with a U-shaped seating area. Behind this is a full width sunbathing area. Forward of the helm position is an attractive bar, where you can enjoy a drink or have a snack from the chef.
The flybridge is transformed into a spa area when the stewardess sets up her massage table and pampers guests with a feel-good massage.
There is also a wide range of water sports on board, including an E-Foil, two Seabobs and numerous other water toys, as well as a water slide. And it's not just the kids who have fun!

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailing catamaran like SHADES OF GREY, the expected APA is 20% to 35% of the charter price (€14,000 - €24,500), making the charter cost €84,000 to €94,500. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

Crew
Captain: Francesco Testa
Born to generations of Bay of Naples fishermen, Francesco drives SHADES OF GREY with instinctive local seamanship and a calm, disciplined edge that lets guests relax while he threads the busy Med and Caribbean like it’s his home street. His quiet focus, shaped by philosophy, meditation and martial arts, keeps the boat steady, the program sharp, and every passage clean and safe.
- From a multigenerational fishing family in the Bay of Naples.
- Over 10 years’ professional bluewater experience on deliveries and luxury charters worldwide.
- Extensive cruising background in West Mediterranean and other global destinations.
- Speaks English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish.
Pablo runs the galley like a tight, creative lab—precision portions, clean flavors, and plates that splice Latin roots with Asian moves so guests eat light, fresh and dialed-in to every cruising ground. He listens hard to preferences, then builds menus that hit exactly what each group wants, from comfort food to tasting-style dinners.
- 11 years’ professional chef experience in high-pressure kitchens.
- Culinary work in Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia, Uruguay, USA (San Francisco), Spain (Barcelona) and Mallorca.
- Trained in Asian cooking techniques in Bali, Indonesia.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
Mia moves fast and quiet, turning long charter days into smooth service—sharp table setups, cabins always right, and an easy, patient presence that makes guests feel like the boat is theirs from the first hour. Under pressure she stays steady, so service doesn’t crack even when the schedule does.
- Previous experience as stewardess and cook on motor yachts.
- Strong focus on table setting, decoration, and guest-facing service.
- Holds personal watercraft (jetski) license and powerboat license.
- On SHADES OF GREY since launch and part of its first successful Med season.
Sam brings a sharp, corporate-trained mindset into yacht service—she reads guests fast, runs logistics in the background, and quietly layers in little VIP touches that make the trip feel curated instead of standard. She’s used to owning projects front to back, so shore runs, activities and details stay under control.
- Background as bank consultant, team leader, and area manager in insurance.
- Founded and ran a Sardinia holiday-accommodation and excursion business.
- Experience as deckhand, stewardess, and chef at sea.
- Holds both Italian and German boat licenses; speaks English, German and Italian.
Salvatore grew up on the water between Naples and Sorrento and treats lines, tenders and toys like second nature, keeping the deck operation tight so guests just see seamless swimming, boarding and beach runs. His navigation habit and technical mindset back up the captain, adding another layer of safety on every move.
- Born and raised in Castellammare di Stabia, near Naples and Sorrento.
- Started nautical career at 18 as a superyacht mooring assistant.
- Over 10 years’ experience as captain and first officer before joining SHADES OF GREY.
- Strong background in navigation and technical yacht operations.

Reviews
The toys were great and everybody had so much choice and enormous fun. Both our friends for the first half of the holiday and our family for the second half were completely blown away.
But what made the holiday seriously special was the crew. They have been truly special: super professional, extremely attentive, always available, always a step ahead when it came to looking after our needs. The chef was amazing; we ate spectacularly throughout the whole holiday. The whole team have been a dream: they created a harmonious, welcoming, extremely high end service level, with a feeling of being at home.
We have been chartering boats for many years but we had not experienced such a beautiful dedicated crew before. The captain has created a perfect team: good atmosphere, always calm, with everybody always available for any need. Francesco is really an amazing skipper - have not met someone like him before in over 15 years of chartering.
So we feel we have been very lucky and I think we will charter Shades of Grey again.
Just to inform you that the clients had a fantastic time onboard they were very happy with the yacht and crew service onboard. Charter was a big success!!
It was a pleasure to work with you and hopefully we will get some requests for the Caribbean as well!
Thank you, Best regards
From my side, working with Captain Francesco was very easy, he was happy to have a call with the client’s agent and quickly prepared a suitable itinerary for the client’s trip. He gave regular updates throughout the charter.
I would happily work with this yacht and crew again!
Thank you for all of your wonderful hard work for the Exxxx family!
We would like to leave you a generous $XX,XXX gratuity to be split evenly amongst your crew.
It has been a pleasure working with everyone for a wonderful experience for our family!
I do confirm that I had a charter onboard SHADES OF GREY in March 2025. The client’s feedback after the charter was excellent regarding both the boat and the crew. The best reference I can give is that the crew received 20% tip, and the are considering chartering the catamaran again next year.
From my side, working with the Captain Francesco was very easy. Despite the clients being somewhat demanding, the Captain managed to bring the charter to a very successful conclusion.
I highly reccomend SoG!
