MEET THE CREW FOR 2021/22:

Captain Jake Lockwood and chef Mackenzie Thomas

Growing up among the mountains and lakes in the resort town of Whitefish, Montana, Jake has always loved the outdoors and being on the water. Always exploring, Jake moved east for his undergrad at Georgetown, studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary, and after graduating with a business degree, he headed for the hustle of New York City. After taking a sailing vacation in the Caribbean, Jake was inspired to continue his passion on the water and he left his desk job behind to pursue sailing full time! Jake earned his captain's license in the Caribbean, and he has now chartered guests throughout Croatia and Italy. Jake is excited to return to the Caribbean to create amazing experiences and unforgettable memories with his guests. When not sailing, you’ll find Jake exploring new places, meeting new people, mountain biking, golfing, skiing, playing soccer, and eating as many new foods as he can find along the way.

Also from Montana, Mackenzie studied at the University of Oregon before trading in her small town roots for an array of passport stamps from around the globe. She’s spent time learning in restaurants in Australia, Vietnam, and France and held onto the cuisines from every culture. Before working in the Mediterranean, Mackenzie was managing a high end beach club in Bali, where she dealt directly with guests and staff from around the world, providing exceptional service to her clientele. She now combines her love of cooking with her love of life on the water with her guests from across the globe. Mackenzie has chartered in the BVIs, the USVIs, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, Florida, and the Bahamas. She loves to connect with her guests and show them a truly unique holiday, and knows that with the help of her dynamite captain Jake, everyone will walk away with some amazing memories.

Khao Soy- a northern Thai curry served with jasmine rice and a hummus

Slow-cooked BBQ pulled pork sliders served with tri-colored slaw and
homemade cauliflower mac & cheese



White crab, jalapeno, and pepper jack cheese quesadillas with a side
homemade salsa and tortilla chips



Grilled flank steak salad with candied walnuts, blue cheese, and avocado
in a red wine reduction vinaigrette served with a side of homemade

Jake and Mackenzie, there are not enough adjectives to explain how AMAZING you both were! Kind, warm, fun, energetic and knowledgeable. The food was incredible (and we are not easy to cook for with allergies and vegetarians amongst us). Mackenzie was so creative. Her presentations were gorgeous. We ate like royalty. Our older daughter - who has the allergies - was thrilled, as were we all. And Jake was a blast and has good karma as we always found the best mooring spots! He was always happy to teach us about the boat and about sailing, and energetically facilitated all the activities of our active family. Both of them tirelessly played games and swam with with us and the girls in their down time. Our younger daughter cried all the way to town after they dropped us off because she was missing them so much. We would absolutely book another trip with this duo! Anyone who sails with Jake and Mackenzie is in for a treat.

Our trip was everything I'd hoped for and more!
It's been one month since our return and we still find
ourselves reminiscing about our time with you on SeaU quite often! We
couldn't have asked for a better fit for our family than you two as our
captain and chef. Kirk and I and all 5 kids had so much fun with you on
our USVI adventure! Thanks for showing us the best of St. John's and
St. Thomas, teaching us some super fun new games and making sure we were
always well fed! I love listening to some of the new music I picked up
from you both. You have great taste, so if you have any more
recommendations, please pass them along. Our trip was everything
I'd hoped for and more! Thanks for the memories!!!

first meeting Kelsey and Mackenzie that they are a great team. They
worked seamlessly together and their experience was really obvious. I

Our 5 days on SeaU were fabulous!
Thanks for the most relaxing and enjoyable five days in the beautiful
clear waters of the USVI. We loved the boat, crew of Kelsey and
Mackenzie, the food and truly seeing all of St John and St Thomas. Our
5 days on SeaU were fabulous! Kelsey was a patient captain who is
totally willing to answer ANY questions about sailing, speed, location,
boat operations etc... And Mackenzie's cuisine is a delight - she can
turn avocado into art! We loved exploring the USVI after initially
being bummed we couldn't visit the BVIs which is our usual vacation.
Maho and Buck Island were our favorites! Calm water, abandoned
lighthouses, maybe a small shark? Great trip, we will miss our wonderful
crew! See you in the Med 2021!
