ODYSSEA Yacht Description
-
Jet Skis (2x Yamaha EX Deluxe):
Rare for yachts this size, perfect for thrilling watersports and island exploring adventures. -
Jacuzzi on deck:
Inviting al fresco Jacuzzi for relaxed luxury, ideal for romantic evenings and soaking up sea views. -
Stabilizers underway and at anchor:
Ensures smooth cruising in tricky seas and peaceful anchoring, so guests enjoy better sleep.
Start with the fun part: ODYSSEA’s top deck is basically a floating rooftop lounge — Jacuzzi, bar, shaded dining, day-to-night lighting, and enough lounging space to make you forget land exists. The beach club and wide swim platform turn the stern into a watersports hub, with the crew quietly feeding you a steady stream of Seabobs, e-foils, Super SUPs, jet skis and towables from a very well-stocked toy locker.
Then there’s the brains of the operation: this is an award‑winning, 47m Dutch Heesen, originally built for the yard’s founder. Steel hull, 4,000 nm range, full stabilizers and a 2024 bow‑to‑stern refit mean you’re not beta‑testing anything — you’re stepping onto a proven, upgraded platform designed to run hard and feel calm.
Real USP territory: ODYSSEA is genuinely wheelchair accessible, with a guest elevator and thoughtful circulation, so all generations and abilities can use all decks, not just “most of the boat.” Add a cinema/family room with 100” screen and bar, a proper gym setup (Peloton, mats, free weights), and you’ve basically covered rainy days, kids, and fitness‑obsessed adults in one shot.
Sleep setup, decoded: six staterooms for up to 12 guests, including a semi‑private Owner’s suite on the bridge deck with its own observation lounge and aft deck. The rest of the accommodation spreads across a main‑deck queen and four lower staterooms, giving multi‑family groups and friends real privacy instead of “who pulled the short cabin.”
Why charter ODYSSEA instead of the next 150‑footer on your screen? Because not many yachts combine: founder’s‑yacht pedigree, full 2024 interior and exterior refresh, true accessibility, a serious toy arsenal, a cinema, a beach club, a top‑deck Jacuzzi lounge, and a family‑savvy crew who actually use all this hardware to keep you busy (or blissfully un‑busy) all week.
Accommodation
ODYSSEA is an award winning Super Yacht built by the renowned Heesen shipyard and originally for Frans Heesen himself. Having just completed a major refit in and out, the yacht is transformed to a whole new level of beauty. She exudes sophistication with sleek exterior lines and new exterior colors. An edgy, urban interior design creates a unique identity that sets her apart thanks to the expertise of Bannenberg & Rowell of London in coordination with the Owner. Artfully combined wood, leather, and artistic steel accents achieve a modern aesthetic with a warm, inviting arrangement throughout the interior spaces. One of ODYSSEA's most unique features is an expansive private Owner's Suite situated on the bridge deck, providing a secluded yet supremely scenic sanctuary that opens onto an aft deck lounge. The exclusive portside owner's observation lounge, also allows for a quiet space to read, take personal calls or sip morning coffee undisturbed. Beyond the owner's quarters, ODYSSEA offers an additional five lavishly appointed staterooms accommodating up to 12 guests total in sublime comfort. The yacht's voluminous main salon and dining area seamlessly connect to a state-of-the-art full beam cinema forward, while the recently remodeled Queen stateroom also located forward on the main deck provides a peaceful private retreat. Below deck, four more staterooms stand ready to pamper guests. In all, ODYSSEA provides over 240 square meters / 491 GRT of living space distributed across three spacious decks, each offering ample opportunities to relax in luxury while taking in spectacular ocean vistas. From bow to stern, ODYSSEA's sophisticated style and generous amenities create a super yacht experience like no other.
Salon & Dining salon
The main salon offers a comfortable seating area positioned centrally which leads seamlessly to the formal dining; slightly lighter in color scheme with all new furnishings and leather panels. New touch control blinds throughout.
On deck guest Queen stateroom
This main deck stateroom located forward just off the starboard foyer used to have two twin beds and now features a new Queen bed with all new look of this room. It is inclusive of a large ensuite bathroom with glass shower.
Cinema/Media room
Forward of the Queen guest on the main deck is a full-beam media lounge and adjoined high top bar plus Peloton space. Custom built furniture, floor and wall panels have been updated creating a sophisticated atmosphere versatile as a family room for fun or a meeting place. A 100 inch screen is connected to the Kaleidescape entertainment system.
Master Stateroom
Panoramic views can be enjoyed from the vast luxurious master suite, now with a completely new bed, touch controlled curtains and adjoining private observation lounge. Aside from the king size bed facing aft, the stateroom features an oversized walk-in wardrobe, marble bathroom with double sinks and steam shower featuring a stunningly intricate timber wall art piece and custom lighting. A stew pantry is positioned just outside of the observation lounge amidship and convenient for serving the next level up to the sundeck.
Guest Staterooms
On the lower deck you will find 4 guest staterooms, 2 Queen and 2 Twin, each with pullmans. All benefiting from the creativeness of a soft and elegant décor with plenty of natural light and ensuite bathrooms with glass enclosed showers.
Al fresco dining can be offered on each level with versatility of oval and rectangular tables to suit the meal time and group. A well-designed sliding door enclosure on the sun deck forward offers protection from the elements if needed during cocktails at the bar or dinner, while the comfortable areas on this deck spread from the forward most seating adjoined to the Jacuzzi to the versatile lounge area farthest aft. All counter surfaces on this level have been updated with opaque crystal granite which has stunning backlit options to set the evening mood and which can be controlled by the crew in a single touch. On the foredeck is additional sunpad lounging as well as U-shaped seating. Request for shade or sun anytime from the crew as each area can easily transform with sail shades customized forward or aft on all decks.
When it comes to water toys, this yacht does not miss a beat. A large, well organized lazarette allows for crew to easily and discretely provide guests their picks of the day for watersports activities, while enjoying the beach club and view at waterline level.
2024:

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a motor yacht like ODYSSEA, the expected APA is 25% to 40% of the charter price ($50,000 - $80,000), making the charter cost $250,000 to $280,000. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

Crew
Captain: Chris Seago
Chris drives ODYSSEA with the calm aggression of a man who built his own 32-foot boat and then pointed it at the horizon, so your charter runs tight, safe, and wide open for adventure. He reads weather, guests, and toys the same way—fast—so your days stack up clean and dialed-in.
- South African, raised in KwaZulu-Natal
- Built a 32 ft sailboat with his family and cruised Caribbean, Bahamas, and South Atlantic
- Joined yachting industry in 1993
- Refit and ownership transition experience from M/Y COMO to M/Y ODYSSEA (joined in 2017)
Duncan runs ODYSSEA with a Cape Town sailor’s precision, keeping passages smooth and decisions clean so guests feel the result—stable, confident cruising—without seeing the calculations. His easygoing manner takes the edge off big miles and makes the boat feel like home base from day one.
- From Cape Town, South Africa
- Sailing background from dinghies onward
- Joined the yachting industry in 2003
- Refit and charter-focused experience on ODYSSEA as rotational captain
Rod fires out plates with London fine-dining discipline and traveler’s curiosity, building menus that track your day—clean, bright, and fast at noon, then deep and layered when the sun drops. He listens hard to what you like, then quietly over-delivers at every sitting.
- British, raised in the Derbyshire Dales (UK)
- Culinary diploma completed at 16–18
- 10+ years in top London restaurants under chefs including Gordon Ramsay and Tom Aikens
- 10 years based in the Mediterranean; now residing in Thailand with extensive travel in Asia
Gary treats ODYSSEA’s machinery the way he treated every appliance he tore apart as a kid—nothing is random, everything is understood—so you get silent cabins, cold air, and smooth power without a hiccup. He runs the technical side like a rescue mission: prepared, redundant, and ready.
- From Sea Point, Cape Town, South Africa
- Background in water skiing, swimming, water polo, and National Sea Rescue volunteering
- 10 years working as a marine engineer before entering superyachts
- Became Chief Engineer in 2018
Craig brings a mechanic’s instinct from the motor trade and a navy family legacy, keeping ODYSSEA’s systems tight even when the miles and conditions get rough. He likes older, complex vessels, which means your modern one gets overkill levels of care.
- From Motherwell, Scotland
- Early career in the motor industry with a local company
- Entered yachting in 2013, transferring automotive skills to yachts
- Extended experience maintaining and upgrading older vessels
Hayden runs the deck like a clean operation—tenders, toys, and line-handling locked in—so you feel the result as smooth arrivals and sharp water days. He swapped accountancy for salt spray and brings that same obsessive order to every move on deck.
- From Johannesburg, South Africa
- Background in multiple sports, with focus on golf and fishing
- Studied Accounting before switching careers into yachting
- Joined ODYSSEA in May 2018
Michael is your point man for wake, foil, and anything that throws a spray, turning ODYSSEA’s toy stack into crisp, safe sessions instead of chaos. He brings New England water sense and mountain skier focus to every launch and recovery.
- From Scituate, Massachusetts, USA
- University graduate (2019) who moved directly into yachting
- Strong wake surf, wakeboard, and hydrofoil experience
- Avid skier, regularly chasing top snow conditions
JJ turns the aft deck into a watersports playground, teaching and towing with the patience of someone who’s lived half his life in the ocean. He traded a desk for a wake and it shows—your time on the toys runs hard, fun, and under control.
- From Durban, South Africa
- Split early years between college and intensive time in the ocean
- Extensive experience in wakeboarding, skiing, and multiple watersports
- Shifted from office career path into full-time yachting
Hayley runs the interior with a psychologist’s read and a host’s precision, tuning the rhythm of service to each group so the yacht feels calm, sharp, and personal. She spots needs early and quietly adjusts the space around you to match the moment.
- From Johannesburg, South Africa
- Honors degree in Psychology
- Professional experience at a Center for Autism, a Crisis Call Centre, and a Community Youth Development Organization
- Started yachting in April 2018 in Antibes with a strong focus on guest experience
Holly brings boarding-school grit and lake-bred water instincts, flipping from polished cabin work to full-speed watersports support without dropping a beat. She keeps service upbeat and athletic, a good fit for families and active groups.
- Raised in Mazowe, Zimbabwe, surrounded by lakes
- Boarding school from age 5, developed and pursued competitive rowing
- Represented Zimbabwe in rowing
- Entered the yachting industry shortly after finishing high school in 2020
Ashley blends a decade of hospitality with a lifetime of family sailing, reading guests fast and tuning service to feel natural instead of staged. She’s out for sea days and adventure, and channels that energy straight into how your trip runs.
- From Port Elizabeth, South Africa
- Completed honors in Psychology after studies in Stellenbosch and Cape Town
- 10 years of hospitality industry experience before yachting
- Grew up on family sailing holidays, leading to her move into yachting
