ALORA Yacht Description

*All photos are of a sister ship*

The Bali 4.8 design was new to the market in 2020 and provided a fresh approach to sailing. The design is revolutionary in how space is accessed, with deliberate attention to flow and open space. It succeeds in producing a scale that feels less like a boat, and more like an upscale floating condominium.

Bali catamarans are known and appreciated for their unparalleled success in blending luxury, space, and performance; producing a sailing experience that is unparalleled. This new design further capitalizes on that reputation with the advent of the “Bali garage door” that is the centerpiece of the yacht. It allows for the aft wall of the yacht to simply disappear, opening up the back of the yacht to an unobstructed view of paradise. This also affords indoor/outdoor dining options and gives the ever-present Caribbean breeze ample opportunity to make its way through the yacht with ease.

With her solid foredeck gone are the forward trampolines, replaced by a large relaxing lounge area complete with cushions for sunbathing. A full-sized door provides access directly from the lounge area into the salon, allowing free movement through the yacht. A walk up to the flybridge unveils a seating area perfect for cocktails and taking in sunsets. There is also another area for sunbathing on the flybridge where you can take in the sights of the islands from the highest vantage point on the yacht.

The Bali open space design is further complimented by the superior outfit of Alora. No detail has been left unnoticed from the fine linens, pillows and throws to the wine glasses, serving and flatware that make every day feel luxurious. She has been stocked full with every appliance and kitchen accessory to allow the chef to fully showcase the mastery of their art. And the water toys abound, allowing guests to fully experience all the Caribbean has to offer, both in and out of the water.

Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht ALORA is a 49 ft sailing catamaran. The main attractions of ALORA are her well-chosen interiors and experienced crew. ALORA spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was delivered by the well-known ship builder Bali Catamarans in 2024. The well-planned yacht layout features 3 large cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests.

ALORA is introduced primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is where heart of the yacht is and usually it is where you, as a charter guest, spend most of your time. The fascinating cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes add to the feeling of connection with the discovered environment.

The sailboat features T/A = No, 15% max CREW GRATUITY: CONTRACTS: CYBA contract. No MYBA contracts. SMOKING IS ONLY PERMITTED OFF OF THE SUGAR SCOOPS ON THE TRANSOM OF THE YACHT. CAPTAIN (Temporary until end of season)
Gavin Le Roux

Growing up in a small river town inland South Africa, Gavin couldn’t wait for beach holidays with the family. Starting out diving and deep sea fishing at the age of 13, he filled in his time inland growing up on small power vessels and jet skis, building barges and saving for his next
bit of diving kit.

Gavin started traveling Europe straight out of school, using his skills in hospitality to travel and quickly found his way back to the water in France where he found his love for sailing. Having a can do attitude he quickly found his place as a deckhand on a sailing vessel and
maintaining luxury speed boats.

His travels later lead him to Australia where he concentrated on his career in hospitality. He learnt the industry through his bar and service skills but he wanted to learn more working in kitchens and running hotels. He thus opened his first cafe in Brisbane in 2012, shortly after
expanding his business into catering and food carts. During this time Gavin had fallen away from sailing, finding a new hobby of rock climbing. He still squeezed in dives as often as he could and every time he was on a boat Gavin longed to be sailing.

2019 came around and Gavin packed up his life in Australia and submerged himself back into sailing. Since then he has built up his experience in instructing sailing, teaching between South Africa and Australia, and delivering sailing vessels in between. He ran day charters
around his familiar waters and shares his love of the water with as many people as he can. He is growing his family in South Africa and longs to one day sail the world with the ones he loves most.

Having his experience in hospitality and sailing the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans he feel has lead him to want to share his love of this beautiful environment on the water, create memories and tell good stories of old ones. He looks forward to having you onboard!

CHEF (Temporary until end of season)
Marie Levraud

Marie is of French Caribbean descent, born in Guadeloupe, and raised in the South of France. Her journey began through her passion for wine, leading her to enroll in the Cooking & Catering School of Avignon, at the age of 21, where she immersed herself in the world of wine and culinary art.

Her career commenced as a successful sommelier in renowned Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury establishments in Europe. After several years immersed in this high-end culinary environment, mastering French etiquette catering, hospitality management, wine tasting and pairing, Marie felt a strong desire to reconnect with her roots. She took a one-way flight back to Guadeloupe, her Caribbean birthplace.

There, she discovered the abundance of nature and embraced outdoor living, fostering a passion for sustainable practices and began cooking occasionally for a notable family. It was in this context that she discovered a new realm of the culinary world and began developing her talents further. The COVID-19 pandemic brought an unexpected turn of events and led Marie to a catamaran, where she spent a week as a chef for charter guests in Saint Barthélémy. This experience ignited a deep connection to the sea and she has never looked back.

Familiar with high-end environments and demanding expectations, Marie quickly expanded her network and seized opportunities that took her to work on large catamarans in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. She feels that being at sea brings out the best of her culinary talent, and hosting guests from all around the world in this environment is for her a privilege to share unforgettable moments.
