AFAET Yacht Description
AFAET is an elegant sailing yacht, built by the craftsmen at Dutch yard Jongert in 1991 and with a high quality renovation transforming both her interior and exterior in 2019. She is almost unrecognisable in her new upgraded form, with every element of her design enhanced in some way. Outside, her fresh teak deck is offset beautifully by a rich blue hull, with her coloured superstructure and orange accents taking her to another level of design. Her interior emanates a feeling of both luxury and comfort.
Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht AFAET is a 99 ft sailboat. The key elements of AFAET are her absolute comfort and culinary experience. AFAET spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was completed by the renowned boatbuilder Jongert in 1991. A succesful refit was delivered in 2019. The ingenious yacht layout features 4 large cabins and easily accommodates a group of 9 guests.

Accommodation
The interior of AFAET emanates an ambience of comfort and luxury. Her large saloon offers two distinct areas for dining and relaxing.Her aftship accommodation consists of two double cabins and two twin cabins, one with pullman bed, all with en-suite facilities. All cabins are air conditioned as are all living areas on the yacht, including the deck saloon when it is enclosed.
Dinner can be served comfortably for 12 in her semi enclosed deck saloon, sheltered from either sun or spray and cocktails can be enjoyed under sail from around her aft steering helm "wet bar" with extensive padded seating area.
Her inside saloon has two distinct areas for dinning or relaxation.

Roberto Grossi
Position: Captain
Nationality: Italian
Roberto is a sailor with several years of recreational and professional experience on sailing yachts up to 100ft, with a good level of engineering and shipyard experience and great guests interaction and listening skills. He is dedicated professional with a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail, hands-on, sociable but discreet when appropriate. He is a holder of MCA Master 200GT/ OOW 500GT Unlimited, GMDSS GOC, MCA ECDIS, MCA Efficient Deckhand, MCA Approved Engine Course and RYA Powerboat Level 2.
He has a background as a deckhand, first mate, assistant engineer, and a tender driver on a various yachts. His hobbies are sailing kayaking, diving (PADI Advanced) and hiking. Before becoming a captain on onboard S/Y AFAET, he was serving on the same vessel as a Chief Mate/Engineer. Previous boats: S/Y GIBIAN, MONOHULLS, OUTREMER 45, JEANNEAU SUNFIZZ, HOEK TRULY CLASSIC TC90.
Ioannis Tsiapas

Ioannis is a Private Chef with many years of experience in the Catering & Customer Service Industry. He graduated from the Culinary School and fulfilled his military obligations. He is creative team player with a great problem solving, communication and organisation skills. As a part of the team, he makes sure to maintain a positive and professional approach with the coworkers and customers. He is always showcasing a professional demeanour and a positive attitude creating a unique experiences, as well as customising weekly menus based on client’s dietary preferences and developed and executed menus that cater to gluten-free and diabetic-friendly dietary needs. Ioannis is specialised in producing high quality plates of modern and healthy Greek cuisine and serving meals 3 times daily for 5-10 guests and 3 additional crew members. Previously he was a Chef onboard Flo Catamaran 54 feet and Serenissima Catamaran 67 feet. His interests are water polo, psychology, chess and traveling and he is native in Greek and fluent in English.
Katy Thomas
Position: Stewardess
Nationality: British
Katy has previously employed in a 5* private chalet in Verbier and Val D’Isère with 8+ years in hospitality and hosting ready to embark on her career in the yachting industry! She is keen & passioned for the sea, having been brought up around boats which included an Atlantic crossing on a 50ft sailing yacht. Hospitality experience has included high-end customer service for ski chalets, hotels, health clubs and restaurants. Katy is an extremely hard working and conscientious individual with a keen eye for detail with strong communication skills built from her experience working within and managing teams.
Timon Donawa
Position: Deckhand
Nationality: Antiguan
Timon has 4 years of a professional experience in yachting industry as a competent rigger and competitor in the Antigua Sailing Week. He has also 6 years of experience in the hospitality industry as a costal captain, interacting with guests from all over the world, delivering the highest quality of a customer care while navigating. He is approachable and easy to get along with any team. He is aiming to combine ideas and strategies to develop a stronger team, well maintained yacht, and provide 5-star yachting experience for the client s and owners. Timon is a tender captain responsible for lines, fenders, monitoring generators, teak maintenance, anchoring and operate and maintain water maker.
