Introduced by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht SUN DAZE 5.4 is a 54 ft sailing catamaran. The key elements of SUN DAZE 5.4 are her most appealing features and inviting socializing areas. SUN DAZE 5.4 spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was completed by the ship builder Bali Catamarans in 2023. The well-planned yacht layout features 4 cozy cabins and easily accommodates up to 8 guests.

SUN DAZE 5.4 is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The yacht layout radiates from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where most of the meals are served. The fascinating cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

The sailboat features 2x80HP Yanmar diesels 21.5Kw Onan Generator engines and a generator.

Accommodation

4 queen berth guest cabins each with a private en-suite electric head, stall shower and sink/vanity. The starboard aft cabin does not have a full shower, and has a wet head.
All cabins have individually contract air-conditioning for each cabins comfort.
Top desk fly-bridge with lounging and seating with a 360 degree view.
Forward cockpit and lounge and dining area.
Aft cockpit with seating and dining accommodations.
Main deck has a bright and airy main salon (fully air-conditioned) as the galley direct access to the forward cockpit lounge area.

CAPTAIN: Tiago Silva

Born in Lisbon and growing up in Peniche, a small surf town in the west of Portugal, Tiago always gravitated towards the water. He is an avid sailor, surfer and loves to swim. He started sailing when he was 8 years old, racing on Optimist sailing boats and later on 420 sailboats. Throughout his twenties he was a surf instructor at Baleal Surfcamp, teaching people from all over Europe how to catch a wave!

Tiago went on to study at Nautical University in Lisbon, where he received his degree in Nautical Sciences. He joined the Norwegian Merchant Navy as Deck Officer and worked on chemical tankers, seismic vessels and ROV vessels across the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic ocean.

During the summer of 2019, Tiago decided to move back to Europe and return to his love of sailing. He found through chartering that he could combine his passions for instructing, sailing, navigating and exploring, and has been doing so ever since. Tiago has spent vast portions of his life at sea and he is an extremely confident and experienced sailor. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and is eager to show others the wonders of life at sea.

Tiago is easy going, professional and is the kind of person that makes you feel safe and relaxed at sea. He also makes a mean Old Fashioned!

Kiki Bouman

Kiki is originally from The Netherlands and she gained her culinary expertise through work in several upscale restaurants over the span of eight years, making her way from line cook to Sous Chef. She loved the fast paced environment of professional kitchens but eventually decided that it was time for something new. In 2020 she traded land-based kitchens for ocean view galleys, and hasn't looked back since.

Her love for food and cooking is a focal point in her life and everything she does revolves around it. Kiki loves to challenge herself in the kitchen, and she truly believes that she will never stop in her pursuit to gain knowledge toward the fine art of cooking. She confidently flows through all sorts of cuisines, from Thai to French to Mediterranean and Caribbean. Kiki's cooking is bold and 'lack of flavor' is not on her list. She believes the best memories are created at the dinner table, it is her mission to let guests experience incredible meals.

Whenever Kiki is not in the galley she likes to explore cities and take part in anything culinary related; wine tastings, dining in Michelin starred restaurants, you name it.

Kiki is hospitable and easygoing and has made it a sport to make you feel welcome.

He is an avid sailor, surfer and loves to swim. He started sailing when he was 8 years old, racing on Optimist sailing boats and later on 420 sailboats. Throughout his twenties he was a surf instructor at Baleal Surfcamp, teaching people from all over Europe how to catch a wave!<br /> <br /> Tiago went on to study at Nautical University in Lisbon, where he received his degree in Nautical Sciences. He joined the Norwegian Merchant Navy as Deck Officer and worked on chemical tankers, seismic vessels and ROV vessels across the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic ocean.<br /> <br /> During the summer of 2019, Tiago decided to move back to Europe and return to his love of sailing. He found through chartering that he could combine his passions for instructing, sailing, navigating and exploring, and has been doing so ever since. Tiago has spent vast portions of his life at sea and he is an extremely confident and experienced sailor. They immediately realized that they made an amazing team. Since then they’ve done many charters together and are very happy to finally be working together full-time in the Caribbean on beautiful yacht Sun Daze. With both of their combined experience, you will be in confident and safe hands. They can’t wait to show you the wonders of the BVI and ensure an amazing holiday!<br /> <br /> CAPTAIN<br /> Pieter van Steenis<br /> Having grown up in The Netherlands in a sailing family there was no getting around it, sailing has been in his blood ever since he set foot on the earth. With over 3 decades of sailing experience in many locations across the planet, varying from the home grounds of the North Sea, to the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and Caribbean Sea, Pieter can rightfully say you’re in safe hands. <br /> <br /> Prior to starting his professional career as captain in 2019, Pieter worked at Tesla for 6 years. He worked in Europe as well as in Australia managing various teams working on a more sustainable future. After 6 years the ocean was calling and he decided to take a 3 month sabbatical to go sailing which escalated into quitting his career at Tesla and a move to living on the water full-time.<br /> <br /> Since then he has worked as delivery captain, sailing instructor and charter captain across the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He is a passionate kite surfer and water sports fanatic and would love to teach you a thing or two about life at sea!<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> CHEF<br /> Kiki Bouman<br /> <br /> Growing up in a small city in The Netherlands, Kiki has always had a desire for exploring the world. In her early days her parents took her and her siblings to a wide variety of restaurants, in all sorts of countries. This really kickstarted her love for food and when she turned 18 she landed her first job as a line cook in a French Bistro. Over the course of 7 years Kiki has worked in several restaurants and has managed to work her way up to a sous-chef at French/Asian fine dining restaurant. <br /> <br /> Next to her love for food she is also a passionate traveler and explorer. She knew there had to be a way to combine the two and when she discovered the world of yachting, she decided to quit her job and give it a shot. Fair to say she hasn’t looked back since!<br /> <br /> Going into her third full season on the water, she’s become a confident yacht chef with plenty of experience. She has worked in various places, including the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and French Polynesia. <br /> <br /> She loves to experiment with flavors from all over the world, and enjoys sharing these with her guests. She believes that one should never stop learning, and therefore she challenges herself to try something new in the kitchen every week.
