Start with the obvious cheat code: SUNNY HILL is a classic 36m motorsailer with a deck jacuzzi and a long-range, go-anywhere hull that was completely rebuilt in 2010. Translation: old-school character, new-world systems, and a hot tub on deck when the wind dies.
This is one of the original, legendary Colombaio motor sailors, designed by Diana Yacht Design and rebuilt from the steel up: hull and tanks sandblasted, engine room gutted and re-equipped, new Volvo main engine and gensets, new rig, new sails, new nav/comm electronics, new AV. The hardware is 21st century; the vibe is authentically seafaring.
Inside, SUNNY HILL is set up for real groups, not brochure photo shoots. She sleeps 10–12 guests in 5 cabins, with a full-beam master suite, two doubles, and two clever twin cabins with Pullmans for flexible family or friends’ layouts. Modern, custom furnishings keep it clean and comfortable rather than fussy.
At sea, she’s a serious passage-maker: steel hull, ketch rig, and a 4,000 nm range mean you’re not confined to short hops. Underway you can sail, motor, or do both, and still arrive with enough energy to hit the water toys—waterskis, towables, scuba and snorkel gear, plus fishing kit for those who need something to point at in photos.
On deck, SUNNY HILL runs the simple playbook well: formal dining inside, alfresco dining outside, a social saloon with updated AV, Wi-Fi and full air conditioning. The six-person crew is sized to actually look after 12 guests without drama.
If you want a flashy white box, look elsewhere. If you want a proper seafaring yacht with a jacuzzi, long legs, and a layout that works for real humans, SUNNY HILL is the quietly correct answer.
