Introduced by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht SAMSARA is a 51 ft sailing catamaran. The most valuable elements of SAMSARA are her well-chosen interiors and experienced crew. SAMSARA spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was delivered by the renowned boatbuilder Leopard in 2018. A succesful refit was completed in 2023. The expansive yacht layout features 2 generous cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests.

SAMSARA is introduced primarily as a sailing catamaran. The yacht layout radiates from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where most of the meals are served. The tasteful cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

The sailboat features 2x Yanmar 57hp Northernlight 11.5Kw engines and a generator.

Captain: Micha Moeller

Micha was born 1971 at the North Sea coast of Germany. His love for the sea began at a young age and he learned to sail in one of the most difficult and dangerous sailing areas in the world. He crossed the North Atlantic Ocean single-handed and non-stop in both directions (Southern Atlantic Route & Northern Atlantic Route), sailed around the world twice and won various regattas. In 2019, the sailing magazine "Multihull World" dedicated an 8-page report of him after he lost his boat "Samsara 1" in Hurricane "Barry" and survived 4 days in the open sea floating on a raft which he made of fenders. After his rescue by the Containership BBC Orinocco, he immediately bought a new sailing catamaran and continued his circumnavigation.

Micha is a licensed airline pilot and flew for SWISS Int' Airline and AirBerlin for many years, but his true passion is the sea and his endless knowledge about sailing and the sea is unmatched. He is well known in the sailing community as a great sailor, a heavy weather specialist and very popular for his willingness to share his knowledge with others.

Even experienced sailors enjoy trips with Micha as captain and book him to expand their own skills.

Micha is known for his dry sense of humor and loves to introduce his guests to boat life and the adventure of the sea.

Charly was born in Milano, Italy and came at the age of 2 to Florida in the United States. He grew up in his parent's food brokerage company and learned the intricacies of first-class foods at an early age. After attending the Northwood University of Texas where he studied hospitality management and culinary art, he started his own catering business where he served the concert and film industry and cooked for many well-known stars. A few years later he accepted the offer of the famous designer Gianni Versace and became his personal chef and US house manager. He has also worked personally for stars such as Cher, Luciano Pavarotti, Madonna and many others. Cher calls him "The King of Bolognese" and Anna Wintour (known for her aloof and demanding personality) calls him "Brilliant". The "Ocean Drive Magazine" honored Charly in an article and called him "The Man who made Miami" and "The Sun Sentinel" named him "The Chef of the month".

Born in Italy his cooking style is Italian influenced, but his main talent is to create unbelievable delicious meals from easy ingredients and his love that he puts in every dish he creates.

Charly has a very open and lovable personality and loves sharing his stories and experiences with his guests. He loves to pamper his guests and show them the adventure and peace of boat life.

Why the boat name ?

Samsara comes from Buddhism and means both "constant wandering" and rebirth.

Micha chose this name for his first catamaran because it best describes what Micha's future life should look like and how he felt after he left "normal" life. After Micha & Charly decided to sail the world together, they quickly agreed that the new boat should be called “Samsara" too.

After his rescue by the Containership BBC Orinocco, he immediately bought a new sailing catamaran and continued his circumnavigation.<br /> <br /> Micha is a licensed airline pilot and flew for SWISS Int' Airline and AirBerlin for many years, but his true passion is the sea and his endless knowledge about sailing and the sea is unmatched. He is well known in the sailing community as a great sailor, a heavy weather specialist and very popular for his willingness to share his knowledge with others.<br /> <br /> Even experienced sailors enjoy trips with Micha as captain and book him to expand their own skills.<br /> <br /> Micha is known for his dry sense of humor and loves to introduce his guests to boat life and the adventure of the sea.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Charly was born in Milano, Italy and came at the age of 2 to Florida in the United States. He grew up in his parent's food brokerage company and learned the intricacies of first-class foods at an early age. A few years later he accepted the offer of the famous designer Gianni Versace and became his personal chef and US house manager. Micha Moeller<br /> Micha was born on 04, August 1971 in Oldenburg at the North Sea coast, where he grew up on the 54ft Sailboat owned by his parents. In his young age he won several sailing races along the North- & Baltic Seas, the famous Young-Sailors race around the Fehmarn Island and crossed the Atlantic Ocean Singlehanded at age of 16 in both directions (Southern Atlantic Route & Northern Atlantic Route). After school he went to the German Technical College of Wildau and got there a stipendium for the SWISS Int. Airlines Flight school where he became an Airline Pilot and later a Test pilot, Training captain and instructor for Sea survival & fire fighting. In 2003 he reduced his duty time and studied Aerodynamics & Statics at the technical University of Berlin which he finished with a Master’s Degree. In 2010 he quit working and traveled in a RV through Europe before he bought a Leopard 40 Catamaran and circumnavigate the world twice. In 2019 he survived a Hurricane in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean for 4 days as the storm sunk his boat and he stayed on a float that he built from fenders. After his rescue by the Containership BBC Orinocco, he immediately bought a new sailing catamaran and continued his circumnavigation. <br /> <br /> He is well known in the sailing community as a heavy weather specialist due to his experience and survival skills. He likes to feel the adrenaline flowing in his veins, but ensures that everyone on board is always safe. <br /> <br /> Born in Germany and therefore equipped with a pronounced sense of reliability and precision, after a short warm-up phase he is very open and ready for any adventure. <br /> <br /> Chef Charly Podesta<br /> Charly is a former celebrity chef and worked many years for the late Gianni Versace as his personal Chef and House manager, Cher calls him the "King of Bolognese" and Madonna hired him for her daughters birthdays party. He further worked for Pavarotti, Sylvester Stallone and many other celebrealities. Name him a celebrity and he'll tell you what he cooked for him/her.<br /> <br /> Born in Italy his cooking style is Italian influenced, but his main talent is to create unbelievable delicious meals from easy ingredients and his love that he put in every dish he creates.<br /> <br /> Charly is very open to everyone and always a very funny companion.<br /> <br /> Our paths first crossed in August 2019 after Micha came to Fort Lauderdale from the Bahamas with his 44 foot sailing catamaran "Saana" to do some repairs and upgrades. A close friendship developed that has continued to grow to this day. We have been roommates in Hollywood, Florida since February 2021 and since Charly's retirement we have started planning our next adventure.
